Feigning ignorance, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour Tuesday that she doesn’t know what Rep. Ilhan Omar said regarding the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
Omar caused a furor when video surfaced of her dismissing 9/11 as “some people did something,” followed by an old clip in which she compared America and the United States army to groups such as Al Qaeda or Hezbollah.
President Trump kept the focus on Omar (D-MN) by tweeting a video of the controversial comments mixed with footage from the attack.
Pelosi actually demanded Trump take down the video and claimed it was an incitement to violence against the freshman Democrat. She even discussed increased security for Omar with the House Sergeant-at-Arms.
Yet during the interview with Amanpour, she doesn’t seem to know what Omar had even said.

“I haven’t had a chance to speak with her. I’m traveling, she’s traveling. But we couldn’t catch up with her. Until I talk to somebody, I don’t even know what was said,” Pelosi claimed of Omar’s original 9/11 comment. “But I do know what the President did was not right.”
If you watched the video that the President shared, Ms. Pelosi, then you know exactly what Omar said and why it was so reprehensible. The Speaker is either lying or assuming Amanpour is too dumb to pick up on it.

Says Omar is Not Anti-Semitic
Equally as offensive, Pelosi backed Omar as not being anti-Semitic and insisted the Democrat party has “no taint” of bigotry.
“We have no taint of that in the Democratic Party, and just because they want to accuse somebody of that doesn’t mean … that we take that bait,” Pelosi alleged.
Even better – she used an example of how she confronted anti-Semitism with Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
“When we met the leader of the opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, we said we have concerns about how the Labour Party is perceived in terms of anti-Semitism,” Pelosi explained.
Corbyn has been widely condemned for his own anti-Semitism and has a long history of condemning Israel while applauding anti-Jewish terrorist organizations. Corbyn referred to terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends” in 2009.
Tainted
Having “no taint” must mean meeting with anti-Semites and then praising their leadership, as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did just two short months ago.
It was an honor to share such a lovely and wide-reaching conversation with you, @jeremycorbyn!
Also honored to share a great hope in the peace, prosperity, + justice that everyday people can create when we uplift one another across class, race, + identity both at home & abroad. https://t.co/7qnz42I8du

Pelosi seems to have forgotten the widespread examples of anti-Semitism within her own party (see friendship with Louis Farrakhan), most famously including Omar herself.
Omar’s career includes references to Israel as “evil,” comparisons of Israel to Iran, repeated anti-Semitic tropes, and support of the BDS movement. She has badgered a Jewish diplomat and traveled with “a radical anti-American and anti-Israel organization” that sides with countries who are political foes to the United States.
Pelosi recently slammed the same BDS movement and anyone who supports it, which she knows full-well includes the freshman Democrat.
“We must also be vigilant against bigoted or dangerous ideologies masquerading as policy, and that includes BDS,” said Pelosi. “I simply declare – to be anti-Semitic is to be anti-American. It has no place in our country.”
To be anti-Semitic, anti-American, or someone who dismisses 9/11, is to be a Democrat. No matter how many times you deny it or pretend you don’t know what people are talking about.
