New York City unveiled shelters for illegal immigrants complete with television sets, Xbox gaming consoles, and “culturally appropriate” meals.

The shelters, tents located on Randall Island, cost $650,000 and are expected to temporarily house 500 single adult illegal immigrants.

“When migrants first walk in after intake, they will see a recreational room set up with rows of couches, TVs, Xbox consoles, and board games,” Fox 5 in NY reports. “There will also be a phone bank so migrants can connect with family in order to find permanent housing.”

Emergency Management Commissioner Zachary Iscol notified reporters that the illegal immigrants will be provided three meals per day, as well as 24/7 access to snacks, coffee, and tea.

“Those meals are all culturally appropriate,” Iscol said. “It is South American fare. The menu rotates on a regular basis.”

Sweet Shelter and Accommodations For Illegal Immigrants

New York City Mayor Eric Adams had originally declared that the influx of illegal immigrants are pushing the city to a “breaking point,” and would be staying in the shelters for a maximum of 96 hours.

Dr. Ted Long, a senior vice president at NYC Health + Hospitals, backtracked on that claim, however.

“We can sometimes do that in 24 hours, maybe even less,” Long said of finding permanent housing for the single adult men. “Many times, it’s going to take longer than that. It could take days.”

“The city’s system is nearing its breaking point,” Adams claimed last month.

Homeless Are Ticked Off

The New York Post interviewed some homeless Americans living in run-down accommodations “just yards away” from the shelters and, needless to say, they weren’t pleased.

“They’ve got Xboxes? Get the f*** outta here!” one man fumed.

“The building I’m in is so f***ing awful,” he added, describing the various smells throughout the building that can be seen from the location where the new illegal immigrant shelters can be found.

“The tents look five times better,” he added.

Another resident of the homeless shelter said there’s but one TV set, compared to the many seen in the above video clip of the illegal immigrant shelters.

He added that the springs poking through his mattress have led to back problems and the elevator doesn’t work, forcing residents to walk up several flights of stairs.

The illegal immigrant shelters also include laundry services, showers, and lockers for storage.

Adams declared a state of emergency earlier this month, calling the increased demand being put on the city by the influx of illegals “not sustainable.”

“We need help, and we need it now,” Adams declared.
