Nikki Haley Slaps Down Media Over ‘UN Laughed at Trump’ Story

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, claims the media-fueled story about world leaders laughing at President Trump is nothing more than fake news.

Unless you were living under a rock on Tuesday, you probably noticed the mainstream media had a field day with one particular incident from President Trump’s speech to the General Assembly.

If you simply listened to outlets like CNN and the Washinton Post in a vacuum, you’d believe that Trump bragged about his accomplishments and other world leaders laughed in his face.

“In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” Trump boasted.

“So true,” said Trump, as some in attendance laughed.

“I didn’t expect that reaction, but that’s OK,” he responded.

The Post claimed the incident was embarrassing for Trump and that “he suffer(ed) the fate he always feared,” while CNN gleefully relayed the news. MSNBC, of course, chimed in as well …

Not so, according to Haley.

“The media got this so wrong,” Haley said during an interview on Fox News.

The Ambassador contends that the audience was laughing because they’re not used to an American President being so honest with them and because he’s not a robotic diplomat like his predecessor.

“I deal with these leaders every single day. I know exactly how they think,” Haley said. “Do they love America? No. Do they respect America? Now they do.”

You bet your a** they do.

“When he said that, they loved how honest he is, and it’s not diplomatic, and they find it funny,” she added.

Respect for America, because the President is blunt and honest. That’s what you have with this administration. People can laugh for whatever reason, but the days of doing so behind our back are over.

You know who else exhibits honesty and commands respect? Haley, herself.

Here’s a short list of evidence:

  • She hosted a party for representatives from countries who didn’t vote against the United States for officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
  • She pulled off a $285 million reduction to the UN operating budget, $35 million more than an original goal one diplomat described as “nearly impossible.”
  • She refused to offer an apology to the African continent for President Trump’s “s***hole countries” comment.
  • She took a thinly veiled swipe at Barack Obama saying, by contrast, this administration cares “more about being right than popular.”

Honesty. Respect. Nikki Haley.

“You’re going to see a change in the way we do business,” Haley said when she first assumed the role of Ambassador to the United Nations.

The change is palpable, and it has to infuriate officials at the UN. Maybe, just maybe, it’s a nervous laughter you’re hearing.
