New Poll Shows More Mexicans Than Ever Want to Keep Illegal Immigrants Out of Mexico

Mexican newspaper El Universal has conducted a poll that shows that since October 2018, more Mexicans support keeping illegal immigrants from entering their country. The jump in the number of Mexicans feeling this way is huge: In October, 49 percent of Mexicans wanted increased immigration enforcement. Today? That number has risen to 61 percent.

That’s a staggering 12 point rise. Could it be that like so many Americans, Mexicans believe border security should be enforced and those entering their country must do so legally?

Of course. This is what any sane citizen of any country would believe.

Newsbusters reports, “The poll also found that 54% of Mexicans are opposed to their government offering work visas to the asylum-seeking wave of Central Americans flooding into their country. The same poll also found that 47% of Mexicans believe President Trump will deliver on his threats to impose tariffs on Mexican imports, while 21% do not.”

Can You Blame Them?

Newsbusters translated ta report of the June 12, 2019 late night edition of Noticiero Univision, in which anchor Arantxa Loizaga and correspondent Alejandro Madrigal discussed Mexicans’ toughening attitudes toward immigration. Madrigal said, “In Mexico, the presence of the immigrants is now starting to become irritating. Six out of every 10 Mexicans agree that the Government should prevent them from crossing, and only one in ten people think they should be allowed to travel freely through the country. This according to a survey in the Mexican newspaper El Universal.”

Madrigal added, “According to the survey, 44 percent of Mexicans believe that the government of President Andres Manuel López Obrador should immediately expel immigrants from the country, and 57 percent do not believe the Government should allow them into the national territory.”

This should surprise no one. America is a nation of immigrants and we have always been one of the most welcoming countries in the world–but there are limits.

One, we can’t just accept everyone in the world regardless, and two, newcomers, just as native born Americans, must obey our laws.

Is that really too much to ask?

It’s a safe bet according to this poll that most Mexicans feel the same way about their own country. And they should.

  1. Amend the 14th Amendment to eliminate citizenship based solely on birth in the United States and the acquisition of constitutional rights based solely on presence in the United States. These are major incentives to immigration. Section One of the 14th Amendment should be amended to read as follows (new and substituted words in brackets, excised words in parentheses):
    “Amendment XIV Section 1 All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, [whose parents were citizens on the date of such birth,] are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any (person) [citizen] of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any (person) [citizen] within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
    The proposal for amendment should make findings and propound suggestions for interpretation, which would not be part of the constitutional text. I’ll discuss possible suggestions upon request posted to website awlmj.com
    The implementation of these suggestions will help educate Americans about the nature and extent of the immigration invasion.
    Also, Putin plans to annihilate the American populace with neutron bomb attacks through Iran and North Korea. This must be taken into account, too.

  3. Repeal “chain migration”, by which newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the United States. America processes and admits 1.2 million mostly low-skilled legal immigrants to compete against working and middle-class Americans for jobs. According to Breitbart, the vast majority, about 70 percent, come in through chain migration. Legal migration might be good, but you can have too much of a good thing. America needs to be more selective about those it lets in.
    Restore the draft. All persons of military age in the United States of America, with specified exceptions such as foreign diplomatic personnel and other visa-holders, should be subject to compulsory military service. Compulsory military service will make the United States a far less desirable migration goal. Enlist migrants who qualify into the American military. They might be useful in fighting the communist insurgency in Venezuela, sapping operations on Mexico’s southern border, and otherwise. Honorable military service can be and often is a path to American citizenship.

  4. Appropriate the entire flow of the Rio Grande. Most should be diverted into a channel parallel to and north of the American Canal for American use. Let the excess run into the new Canal. Purported environmental concerns must not be allowed to hinder defense plans. Leave the Mexicans to their own devices in finding alternative sources of fresh water, they’re so flamin’ smart. They’ve worked against American interests; now America must protect its own.
    As the land for the Canal and other purposes would be taken under the war power, no compensation would be required. But compensation if nevertheless given could be in the form of war bonds or federal lands in the West. Since 85% of land in the West is (unfairly) held by the Federal Government, there should be plenty to go around. Add to these properties now in Chinese hands, which should be expropriated.
    Put America under martial law.
    Terminate diplomatic relations with Mexico for the duration.
    Expropriate all Mexican assets in the USA.

  5. For years has been a problem with refugees coming in any country. Why? 1)they do not speak the language, 2) they do not have a trade 3) they do not have the money to live in the country they want to go. Lot of them are trouble makers. So! What country should do with them? They are not help for any country, special financialy. They are big burden on the country who is taking them, and you do not know who they are.
