As the chaos on the U.S. southern border continues to deteriorate almost by the hour, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle ripped Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday for ignoring her duties as America’s border czar.
At issue: over the last week, Americans have been subjected to images and video of over 10,000 illegal immigrants – many or even most from Haiti – crossing the border with no resistance and setting up a massive camp in Del Rio, Texas.

No Border Trips Planned
Ruhle asked the question many others are asking: “How about the message from our Vice President, where is she? She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries – that’s obviously not Haiti – that was one of her first international trips with the message, do not come here illegally.”
Ruhle continued, “People aren’t listening. What is she saying now?”
Indeed, people are not listening if they are crossing in masses that are larger than small towns.
Since the beginning of September, the number of Haitian immigrants amassing at the Del Rio International bridge has grown to roughly 10,000.
This in addition to the never ending influx of immigrants from Mexico and Central America.
Since being put in charge of immigration by President Joe Biden at the end of March, Harris has made one trip to El Paso. She has not gone directly to the border, and currently there are no plans for her to make any trips to the border.

Not Up To The Job
MSNBC guest Julia Ainsley seemed to agree with Ruhle saying, “Well, we haven’t heard a lot from the Vice President.”
Ainsley talked about work being done in Mexico by Harris pertaining to the border, but said the U.S. “was seeing a breakdown” in cooperation with Mexico.
Back in July, a report from The Hill quoted a source close to the Vice President as having “a serious lack of accomplishments.” The report pointed out that Harris had been given two main tasks, illegal immigration and expanding voter access. The source stated that, “No one is coming out and saying she’s doing an amazing job, because the first question would be ‘On what?’”
Then came the the interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, who asked Harris if she had plans to go to the border.
Harris stated that, “We’ve been to the border.”
Holt pushed back, saying that Harris herself had not been to the border. That’s when things got a bit testy and Harris said, “…and I haven’t been to Europe. I don’t understand the point you’re making.”
Her rather dismissive tone rattled both Republicans and Democrats.
12,000 migrants are now living in makeshift camps under a Texas bridge & dealing with unlivable conditions—including 100-degree weather & water and food shortages.

Harris Getting Criticism From All Sides
Vice President Harris’s critics on both sides of the aisle are wondering just where her priorities are.
The Democrat mayor of Del Rio Texas slammed the Vice President for having the time to attend a football game on Saturday, while ignoring conditions at the border: “The VP is able to visit the fun events across the country, while American communities continue to grapple with failed immigration reform. Where is the visit to Del Rio, TX?”
While Vice President Harris has no plans to visit the border, she does have time to make a guest appearance on “The View” on Friday.
