Today, the mainstream media wants you to believe that politically-minded students across America are standing up to gun violence by staging a national “walkout.” In reality, the protest is a complete sham staged by Women’s March organizers, and students are just using it as an excuse to cut class.
Good thing we have a First Lady who’s actually doing something to combat violence among our country’s youth.
On March 20th, Melania Trump will meet with representatives from several tech giants to discuss how to tackle cyberbullying. The meeting was confirmed by Amazon and representatives of two companies who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The companies expected to attend the meeting include Amazon, Snap Inc., Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
In a statement, Melania spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said that Melania “has simply asked for a meeting to discuss one of the many things that impacts children – as she has done many times in the past, on several different topics.”

Melania announced early on in Trump’s presidency that she would make combating cyberbullying one of her main focuses as First Lady, and she began to ramp up her efforts following the shooting in Parkland, Fla. In a speech offering support to the survivors, she said it was important for parents to monitor their kids’ behavior on social media. “As I have said before, it is important that, as adults, we take the lead and the responsibility in helping our children manage the many issues they are facing today,” she said. “This means encouraging positive habits with social media and technology, even limiting time online and understanding the content they are exposed to on a daily basis.”
Last week, Melania met with Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv at the White House, where he showed her the app he’s designed to allow students to discuss mental or emotional issues with one another. Kashuv, unlike some of his other fellow students, doesn’t believe strict gun control is the solution to school shootings – and he and Melania are right.
Social media plays a huge role in the lives of American youth – today’s high school students have never known a world without the internet. Unlike in the past, bullying doesn’t stop once the school day ends, and there have been too many instances of online bullying that have led students to harm both themselves and others. If there’s anywhere that’s a good place to start with combating gun violence in schools, it’s cyberbullying.
