President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump recently toured Asia, and Melania looked stunning as ever in high fashion gowns inspired by traditional Chinese garments.
On Thursday, Melania visited the Banchang Primary School alongside her Chinese counterpart Peng Liyuan. For the tour, Melania wore a custom made black Dolce & Gabbana gown embellished with beautiful symmetrical pink flower detailing.

While at the school, Melania painted with students, visited an astronomy class, and even shared her fashion expertise in a design class.

Later in the evening, Melania attended the state dinner with China’s President Xi Jingping, where she wore an even more stunning Asian-inspired custom made Gucci dress. The black Gucci gown featured gorgeous pink and green embroidered flowers and peacocks, along with pink fur sleeve cuffs for an added bit of flair. She paired the dress with sky-high stilettos in – what else? – her favorite color, pink.

This is not the first time the First Lady has dressed in culturally inspired high fashion. Indeed, fashion has become Melania’s brand of diplomacy. Of her keen fashion sense, Melania’s communications director Stephanie Grisham told CNN, “Mrs. Trump always wants to be thoughtful and respect the traditions and protocols of the countries she visits. She knows she is representing the United States, and wants to be sure she is appropriate in all that she does. She is planning her wardrobe around each stop and visit, which I believe is pretty typical of anyone who is packing for a trip.”
Yes, it is pretty typical. But not everyone has Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci on speed dial.
