There have long been reports that ex-Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is something of a tyrant behind the scenes, and now several people have come forward to speak about her unsavory behavior.

Iren Halperin, a makeup artist who used to work for Fox News, told the New York Post that Kelly is “disrespectful” and “not for women. She’s extremely mean and rude to women.”

According to one story from Halperin, who worked with Kelly in 2009 when she co-anchored “America’s Newsroom With Bill Hemmer,” Kelly once showed up 30 minutes early for makeup and kicked a reporter out of Halperin’s chair. Later, Kelly lied to management about Halperin’s behavior. “The next day my boss called me. Megyn went and lied to management and said, ‘[Iren] can’t come in on time because she has child-care issues,’” Halperin said. She later asked to be moved to a different anchor. “She was difficult and demanding,” Halperin said of Kelly. “And if you didn’t do what she wanted, she would try to get you in trouble.”

Reportedly, Kelly’s attitude hasn’t improved now that she’s at NBC – and her job could be in jeopardy for it. And as a high-ranking NBC veteran put it, Kelly might not be with the network much longer. “She is hated inside the ‘Today’ show and is seen as tarnishing the brand, out-of-control and selfish,” the source said.

Another show contributor said that producers have to avoid using Kelly’s name when booking guests in effort not to scare off big-name stars. Indeed, one celebrity publicist said of Kelly, “I won’t even let my NBC talent go on her show. She’s a loose cannon.”

After what happened with Debra Messing and Jane Fonda, it’s easy to see why Hollywood is wary of Kelly. Furthermore, it’s obvious to everyone at the network that Kelly doesn’t have the liberal-friendly, PC attitude needed to be a morning show host. “They need to switch her to specials or investigative reporting,” said the publicist. “Anything to get her off the 9 o’clock hour.”

In fact, the situation is reportedly so bad that NBC might ditch Kelly before her three-year contract is up. “The general feeling is that she will not last three years,” a network source said.
