Marjorie Taylor Greene Permanently Suspended From Twitter For Spreading COVID Misinformation, Chinese State-Affiliated Media Account Remains

“We permanently suspended Marjorie Taylor Greene for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” a statement from the social media company reads.

“We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”

Though it is unclear which specific series of tweets led to some previous actions or the actual death knell for Greene’s account, Rolling Stone reports that the lawmaker tweeted about an “extremely high amount of covid vaccine deaths” on Saturday.

While the phrase a ‘high amount’ is certainly subjective, the CDC reports that deaths following and not necessarily due to the vaccine are “rare.”

“More than 496 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through December 20, 2021,” the CDC site reports.

“During this time, VAERS received 10,688 reports of death (0.0022%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene Suspended From Twitter

Technically, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has a pretty sound argument for having the suspension overturned, though we’re quite certain Twitter will never admit to a mistake.

Rolling Stone explains that the social media company operates with a strike system in determining bans on Twitter.

“One strike results in nothing; second and third strikes result in a 12-hour account lock; a fourth strike brings a seven-day account lock; and a fifth strike results in a permanent suspension,” they write.

Greene’s fourth strike appears to be a tweet from August in which she argued Covid vaccines were “failing” to mitigate the spread of the disease and was suspended for a week.

With omicron predominantly involving those who have been vaccinated and boosted, that argument is undeniably accurate.

If her fourth strike is um … stricken, then the ban should be lifted.

Greene took to a new competitor for Twitter – Gettr, a conservative social media platform founded by Jason Miller, a former aide and spokesman of former President Donald Trump – to voice her frustration.

“When Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala and Ilhan can bail out rioters on Twitter, and Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics, Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” Greene wrote.

Still on Twitter

Political analyst Tim Young asked his followers on Twitter if they can ever recall somebody on the political left being banned for misinformation.

It’s difficult to recall a similar scenario playing out on the left.

President Biden himself has been caught in several COVID-related lies.

“If you’re vaccinated, you’re not going to be hospitalized, you’re not going to be in an ICU unit, and you are not going to die,” he told voters at a town hall meeting in July.

He added, “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.”

None of that was true, even at that time, according to multiple fact-checkers.

Biden isn’t the only one to spread such misinformation in the media.

Twitter though, protects President Biden at all costs. Evidence of that could be seen when they interfered in the election by suppressing two major storylines and withheld information the American people should have had access to heading into the 2020 presidential election.

One involves the coordinated suppression of the Wuhan Lab Leak theory pertaining to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. A theory promoted by Donald Trump. A theory that was shut down on social media before the election but has gained traction since then.

The second involves the Hunter Biden laptop story which was censored leading up to the election but has since yielded bombshell story after bombshell story involving the President’s son and his dealings.

The censorship is almost exclusively to the benefit of Democrats and left-wing politicians and activists.

While Greene and Trump have both been permanently banned from Twitter, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is allowed free reign to promote falsehoods.

Khamenei has repeatedly published tweets inciting violence towards both the U.S. and Israel.

This tweet promises revenge for the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Another in which Khamenei describes Israel as “a malignant cancerous tumor” that has to be “removed and eradicated” is still posted proudly on Twitter.

Twitter has also failed to take action using their 5-strike system against Chinese government-controlled accounts that have repeatedly shared misinformation to deflect from China’s deadly responsibility for the pandemic.

There are numerous other unsavory characters allowed to hold an account on Twitter while Trump and Greene are forced to find other less-reaching outlets.

Louis Farrakhan, a rabid anti-Semite and role model for the Squad, has his account intact.

O.J. Simpson, whom a jury once cleared of murdering his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, has an active account.

Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro is a frequent Twitter user.

None of these people have spread lies that warrant a suspension, according to Twitter. It is only Trump and Greene and the many, many conservatives they purged from the platform last year that pose a threat with their ‘misinformation.’

Twitter is propaganda, an arm of the Democrat party, and, as Greene states, an “enemy to America.”
