Here’s Malia Obama’s Headbanging Music Video Debut

Former First Daughter Malia Obama has made her music video debut for a Harvard band known as the New Dakotas, dancing and playing harmonica to the song “Walking on Air.”

The band consists of seniors at the University Ms. Obama attends as a sophomore. They are considered an indie folk-pop band, which is a step up from the music Michelle Obama has been seen rocking out to.

In the video, Malia plays a person auditioning for the band in various spots and can be seen sporting typical clothing for a college student – an oversized black fleece, matching beanie, and combat boots.

The clips seem amateurish but hey, they’re college kids making a video. Check it out below …

Malia joined her boyfriend, sister Sasha, and her mom for a joint concert between Jay-Z and Beyoncé in Paris, France, this past July. Video of the former First Lady went viral when she was seen dancing with Beyoncé’s mother.

At another point, the group can be spotted dancing to Bey’s song, “Drunk in Love,” which contains some incredibly suspect lyrics.

Barack himself joined in the dance party weeks later at a similar show outside of Washington.

Malia has expressed interest in joining the entertainment industry, something her parents recently did when they inked a multi-year deal to join Netflix.

Reports indicate the pact would allow Hollywood’s favorite political couple to produce “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features.”

But don’t worry, it’ll be totally non-political.

At just 20-years-old, Malia is already a veteran of the music scene. In 2016, she was caught doing her best impersonation of her Dad’s “choom gang” at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

Somebody at that show took a short clip which managed to catch her smoking up. Other clips showed her ‘twerking‘ at the show.

Reporting at that time had suggested Malia was becoming a “wild child.”

At another Lollapalooza in 2017, she was seen dancing erratically, rolling around on the ground.

At least in this new video, she seems slightly more reserved and the song is a good, clean, simple effort from a band of nerds. It’s a much better look for the former President’s daughter.
