White House Chief of Staff John Kelly served nearly 46 years in the Marine Corps and is the highest-ranking American military official to lose a child in combat since 9/11.
He has two Legion of Merit with Valor awards.
He has a Defense Superior Service Medal.
He has a Defense Distinguished Service Medal.
He has served in the Persian Gulf War, and the Iraq War under Operation Desert Storm.
By contrast, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) is frequently arrested for disorderly conduct because he’s a super-tough member of the “resistance.”
Still, those pathetic credentials didn’t stop Gutiérrez from launching a disgusting personal attack on Kelly over President Trump’s decision to rescind DACA.
The congressman called the lifelong military man a “disgrace to the uniform.”
These comments by Rep. Gutierrez are offensive, insulting, & downright demeaning. General Kelly is a hero & patriot.https://t.co/VAArDNx8Pp

“General Kelly is a hypocrite who is a disgrace to the uniform he used to wear,” Gutiérrez seethed. “He has no honor and should be drummed out of the White House along with the white supremacists and those enabling the President’s actions by ‘just following orders.'”
Wow. What a vile, vile human being.
Outrage ensued, and rightfully so …

Anybody recall the outrage over Trump’s comments to Khizr Khan, a gold star father? Kelly too, is a gold star father. Where’s the outrage?

Lest you think Gutiérrez had a moment to collect his thoughts, reel in his emotions, and make a reasonable apology for his words, think again.
He’s doubling down.
“This is a man that says to me to my face, ‘I feel so bad for those dreamers. I’m the only one between them and their deportation,’ ” Gutiérrez recalled during an interview. “Well, if you think it’s wrong, then act on your principle.”
A spokesman for Gutiérrez went with an even more repugnant comment, saying “General Kelly would not have abandoned his troops, but Chief of Staff Kelly apparently will.”
We’re comparing illegal immigrants to military members now?
The congressman is most likely upset about DACA being rescinded because illegal immigrants make up a significant percentage of the Democrat voter base.
He admitted as much in 2014 when confessing that amnesty for illegals would lead to 4 or 5 million new party members.
Of course, anyone who has been paying attention knows that increasing Democrat numbers is the one true goal behind a push for amnesty or the DACA platform.
