Listen: Trump’s Phone Call To Las Vegas Police Are What Makes a True Leader

What you’re about to hear is precisely the reason why we are better off as a nation with President Trump at the helm, as opposed to a President Hillary Clinton or former President Barack Obama.

In the wake of a horrific shooting in Las Vegas that claimed the lives of at least 58 people and injured hundreds more, Clinton pounced at the opportunity to politicize the incident and turn it into an anti-gun screed.

And she did so even before a majority of the bodies had been identified.

“The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots,” she said. “Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.”

Clinton later added, “We can and must … stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.”

Clinton’s comments were something Ben Shapiro, editor in chief of The Daily Wire, described as “Ignorant, irrelevant and exploitative.”

Rather than be exploitative and ignorant, President Trump, being the leader he is, called Las Vegas Metro Police Department Sheriff Joe Lombardo, offering words of encouragement and praise.

“The fast response that you gave, saved hundreds of additional people from being killed,” Trump said to Lombardo directly.

The City of Las Vegas recorded the phone call through another cell phone, and posted in on social media.

Amazing, one candidate from the 2016 presidential race jumped at the opportunity to score cheap political points, while the other praised law enforcement and tried to lift spirits.

President Trump was no different in his private call to the Las Vegas police than he was with his public comments.

“I want to thank the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department and all of the first responders for their courageous efforts and for helping to save the lives of so many,” he said during remarks made at the White House. “The speed with which they acted is miraculous and prevented further loss of life.”

Contrast that to Barack Obama who took the occasion of a memorial service for five police officers gunned down in Dallas to advocate for gun control with an argument as equally bizarre as Hillary’s.

“We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book,” he said without evidence.

President Trump seems aware that a true leader knows how to unify during dark times. He or she knows that there’s a time when the politician switch needs to be turned off.
