Lindsey Graham to DREAM Act Opponents: ‘I Don’t Want Your Vote’

Lindsey Graham (R-SC) held a press conference alongside fellow Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) to support a revived version of the DREAM Act, legislation designed to grant permanent legal status to immigrants who were brought illegally to the United States before they turned 18-years-old.

Graham challenged President Trump, saying he needs to make a move on this matter, and referring to it as “a moment of reckoning.”

“To President Trump, you’re going to have to make a decision,” he said. “The campaign is over.”

Graham also challenged the GOP, saying “To the Republican Party: Who are we? What do we believe? . . . When they write the history of these times, I’m going to be with these kids.”

And to those who oppose the de facto amnesty bill, the Republican senator said he doesn’t want your vote.

Via PJ Media:

Graham and Durbin have reintroduced the DREAM Act for immigrants brought to the country illegally as children and said the “moment of reckoning” has arrived for the GOP as the Trump administration decides if it should defend Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive action in court.

Graham believes “most Republicans have zero problem” granting a pathway to citizenship for students who were brought to the U.S. illegally.

“To the people who object to this, I don’t want you to vote for me because I cannot serve you well. I just don’t see the upside of telling these kids they have to go back and live in the shadows or send them back to a country they have no idea about the country. If you send them back to their native country, some of them have never been there as anything other than a baby,” he said.

The ‘don’t vote for me’ challenge comes at about the 18:50 mark …

Several social media users responded to the challenge from Graham by essentially saying ‘Fine, we won’t vote for you.’

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin has previously referred to the DREAM Act as “a 2.1 million future Democrat voter recruitment drive” and as just another part of the progressive plan to “redraw the political map and secure a permanent ruling majority.”

Apparently, driving voters to the Democrat Party is a good thing in Graham’s view.

Is Graham assuming that America will be turning ultra liberal and socialist in the future, and it must be inevitable? Is he trying to anticipate and get ahead of the curve?…

  2. Hoo boy! I’m glad he resolved that personal dilemma in my life. I mean God put me on this great planet earth and in the great US so I could vote for Lindsey Gray ham right? NO! By the way, who is he, or is it what is he? I get nervous when these self anointed jackasses like lindsay open their yaps and expect adoration from the masses. He might be slipping into dementia. Ya think?

  3. dear mr graham we do not agree with you at all so we wont vote for you I never have anyway , you are a very childish old man that isn’t liked very well you are so changeable all the time so we never know what you mean at all we feel you and your other congress men and woman not all but some don’t give our president that was chosen by we the people a fair change you are always thinking you know best and more than he does well we didn’t choose you we chose him so get over it either do your job as elected to do or get the H out we don’t want you to be there to make trouble we want a better America made for us by the president we chose that is president thrum

  4. If I were POTUS I would say to Mr. Graham, I will get right on that as soon as you get right on repealing obamacare. Well folks, keep electing these dumb asses in and this is what we get, hence I am waiting for Senator Toomey R-PA to insert foot in mouth, so far nothing yet.

  5. I tend to support Graham/Durbin. If all that these people (who came here as children) know about, is life in America. Then how can we say they are aliens? Ironically, my liberal girlfriend wants all of them to go, and come back in legally or not at all. At any rate, I support Graham/Durbin. But either close the borders or institute E-Verify along with this partial amnesty, to prevent more illegal crossings.

  6. I grew up in Charleston, S.C. Mr.’s Graham and Durbin evidently support the
lack of support for OUR laws. If you want to become a citizen, just sneak across ANY
border, and we’ll allow you to jump in line in FRONT of immigrants that attempt to become
    legal residents.
I’d probably like to NOT to work for a living, it’s a LOT of effort, and just rob a bank.
Mr. Graham seems to approve of a short-cut to citizenship, why not a short-cut to
    wealth ??
NO, to dreamers. Just because parents / family smuggled you across the U.S. border, why should
you be any more legal…than a kilo of coke ??
WHY does the U.S. taxpayer have to support a citizen of another country, because some
ill-informed elected liberal decided it ?
Mr.s Graham and Durbin, if you want to put your convictions to the test, how about both of
you donate ALL of your taxpayer funded benefits / AND retirement $$$ to support these “DREAMERS ” needs ?
“Look over there, voters…shiny things…look over there …!!”
