‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episode Recreates Covington Catholic Smear With Ilhan Omar Character

The latest episode of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ appears to use the Covington Catholic incident as part of the “ripped from the headlines” plot, with an interesting twist.

Students at the school, you may recall, were portrayed as racist aggressors in an alleged confrontation with a Native American man. That narrative was debunked when subsequent videos from different angles and longer time periods thoroughly exonerated the students from the charges that were leveled against them.

That was bad enough. Except, producers of the ‘Law & Order’ episode somehow made a more defamatory rendering of what happened by making the students in the scene Jewish and the victim a Muslim woman in the mold of Rep. Ilhan Omar.

The episode, titled “Assumptions,” involves a woman named Nahla Nasar allegedly being sexually assaulted by two Jewish teenage boys. Nasar is a councilwoman, is accused of being an anti-Semite, and actually used a phrase that landed Omar in hot water not too long ago – “It’s all about the Benjamins.”

The Video

The plot eventually involves a video surfacing online in which the boys, along with a crowd of others, were protesting the councilwoman before the attack. They ended up getting in Nasar’s face, much in the same manner the media tried to convince viewers that Covington Catholic’s Nicholas Sandmann did to the Native American man.

One of the boys in the scene, complete with a red hat which could easily be confused with a ‘MAGA’ cap, gets very close to the woman.

“Stop spitting in my face like some kind of animal,” Nasar shouts later adding, “You all saw! An act of aggression no different than Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people!”

She also accuses them of trying to rip off her hijab.

Those are the same boys who were accused of the rape of Nasar.

“That was posted an hour ago,” Chief Dodds reports, “along with a report that SVU arrested two Jewish teenagers for the assault on Nahla Nasar.”

According to Pop Culture, a witness also claims that the red hat was spotted on the boy as he left the scene of the crime. That witness flat-out stated that the hat read “Make America Great Again.”

NBC Might Lose More Money

Does NBCUniversal just have money lying around that they want to give away? They were just hit with a $275 million lawsuit by lawyers for Sandmann after their news divisions and MSNBC allegedly smeared him by making false reports about what happened.

“NBCUniversal created a false narrative by portraying the ‘confrontation’ as a ‘hate crime’ committed by Nicholas,” the lawsuit alleged.

Now ‘Law & Order’ essentially does the same thing.

Perhaps they have an out, however. As the story progresses, the SVU team eventually finds a longer video proving Nasar provoked the teenage boys and that they never actually tried to grab her hijab.

None of that matters, Lindsay Kornick of NewsBusters points out.

“No, the fact that she lied about the boys raping her, made anti-Semitic remarks, and provoked a racial confrontation doesn’t seem to affect any of this,” she writes. “All that mattered was that the public remembered that she was a victim.”

The media pushing a fake narrative, never correcting it, then focusing on who they feel is the ‘true’ victim? At least they got that part of the story right.
