Neil Gorsuch Receives Highest Possible Rating from American Bar Association

At the end of January, President Donald J. Trump officially nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch, who currently sits on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Ever since being selected to serve on the Supreme Court, conservatives have cheered the pick, believing that Gorsuch will be a steadfast conservative justice, protecting the Constitution instead of attacking the rule of law through liberal judicial activism.

The American people have also weighed in on Trump’s nominee, with 49% of Americans saying the United States Senate should confirm Gorsuch as soon as possible. As if Gorsuch’s nomination could not be off to a better start, the American Bar Association just announced that they were giving Trump’s pick the highest possible rating for a Supreme Court nominee.

From The Daily Caller:

The American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary voted unanimously to rate Neil Gorsuch as “well qualified” to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. “Well qualified” is the best possible rating a Supreme Court nominee can receive from the ABA.

The ABA announced the vote Thursday in a letter to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, respectively. Grassley celebrated the letter on Twitter, saying Gorsuch is “well on his way to [the] Supreme Court.”

Despite the broad support Judge Gorsuch has received since being nominated, Democrats are still threatening to obstruct and delay his nomination in any way they can. Even before President Trump made his selection, Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley was openly discussing his desire to filibuster ANY nominee put forth by the Republican president.

In fact, it was discovered that liberals were planning on opposing any nominee Trump made, as images of blank protest signs were spotted at the Supreme Court, with room for an individual to hand-write the name of the then-unknown nominee onto their sign.

The president has pledged to not cave to Democrat demands, and has urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to use the “nuclear option”, the process of confirming a Supreme Court nominee by with a simple majority, if Democrats try and filibuster Judge Gorsuch.

With this rating from the ABA, it’s clear that any Democrat obstruction is nothing more than pure partisan politics.
