Soon-to-be National Security Adviser for the Trump administration, John Bolton, is prepared to clean house according to reports, and he’s looking to start with nearly a dozen holdovers from the Obama era.
Bolton will assume his new NSA role on April 9th and will replace members of his predecessor, H.R. McMaster’s team.
According to sources who spoke to Foreign Policy, the former Ambassador to the United Nations will target four key groups of people currently employed at the NSC:
- Those disloyal to President Trump.
- Those who joined the NSC under Obama.
- Those from McMaster’s team.
- And those who have leaked information about the President to the media.
That’s a pretty good starting point to get some of the riff-raff out of the administration.

Some of the quotes provided by sources will be music to the ears of those long advocating for President Trump to clean house in multiple departments.
“Bolton can and will clean house,” one former White House official claimed.
Another put things in a slightly less poetic manner.
“Everyone who was there during Obama years should start packing their shit,” they warned.

Bolton has made it clear that he has zero tolerance for those who leak information to the media.
He told Fox Business that leaks “interfere with the President’s ability to come to conclusions after discussing all the options in private.”
Specifically, Bolton commented on recent leaks that advisers warned President Trump not to congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his recent election victory.
“I recalled earlier in the administration when somebody was leaking transcripts of the president’s conversations with foreign leaders,” he said. “It’s completely unacceptable.”
Bolton added, “You cannot conduct diplomacy and expect other foreign leaders to be candid and open in their conversations with the President if some munchkin in the executive branch decides they’re going to leak the talking points of the transcript or any other aspect of it.”
Get ready for the new National Security Adviser to make leaking munchkins in the White House a thing of the past.
