A few weeks ago, when leaked video of Donald Trump making crude remarks about women surfaced, many Republicans jumped ship and withdrew their support for the only man standing in the way of a Hillary Clinton presidency.
Congressman Jason Chaffetz, an influential Chairman the Government Oversight Committee (which is tasked with prosecuting government corruption), was one of those people.
“I can no longer in good conscience endorse this person for president,” he said. “It is some of the most abhorrent and offensive comments that you can possibly imagine.”
As Election Day looms and we get into crunch time however, Chaffetz has had second thoughts. It would seem that the daily revelations of ‘abhorrent and offensive’ corruption coming out of the Clinton camp has swayed him to vote for Trump.

It turns out Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is willing to put his “good name and reputation” behind Donald Trump after all.
The chairman of the House Oversight Committee said that he is voting for Donald Trump in a tweet Wednesday night after vowing not to vote for the Republican nominee in the wake of the Access Hollywood recording that surfaced earlier this month.
“I will not defend or endorse @realDonaldTrump, but I am voting for him,” Chaffetz tweeted. “HRC is that bad. HRC is bad for the USA.”
Look, many people were outraged at Trump’s comments. But they were made many years ago in a private conversation. They are far less offensive than anything Bill Clinton has actually done to women.
And they are most certainly less offensive than anything Hillary has in store for America. Her policies and Supreme Court selections over the next four years will hasten the demise of our country – the demise that President Obama started.
If Chaffetz and the other Republicans waffle here and there – so be it. As long as they do what’s right and stop Clinton from winning on November 8th.
