Report: IRS Ignored 1.3 Million Cases of Identity Theft Involving Illegal Immigrants

Another side note to ridiculous claims involving supposedly ‘law-abiding’ illegal immigrants.

A stunning report from CNS News indicates that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) ignored over 1.3 million cases of identity theft by illegal immigrants between 2011 and 2016.

The analyzed cases involved illegals who were given Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN), numbers to those “ineligible to work in the United States or receive Social Security numbers.”

According to the report, the IRS refused to acknowledge that they had referred even one of the 1.3 million cases for criminal prosecution.

Kind of puts a damper on those liberals who claim illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than American citizens or legal immigrants.

First, if you’ve entered the country illegally you’ve committed a crime, making the crime rate for illegals a solid 100 percent.

Second, identity theft is a very serious crime, and not a victimless one either. And many illegals would need to steal a Social Security number in order to work.

One recent case involved an illegal named Andres Avelino Anduaga who assumed the identity of an American citizen and stole over $360,908.85 in government benefits over a 37-year period.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham called the massive report of identity theft by illegals and the subsequent dismissal of these cases “mind-boggling.”

“Illegal immigrants can steal IDs and then file for — and get — payments for child tax credits fraudulently and never get prosecuted,” she said. “This goes through right to the heart of the lawlessness theme that we’re going to be hitting all week long on ‘The Ingraham Angle.'”

That lawlessness rises to the highest levels of government and culture.

Kevin de Leon, Senate President Pro Tempore in California, recently appointed an illegal immigrant to a state post.

De Leon is known to readers of The Political Insider for admitting during a debate that half of his family are illegal immigrants who secured false identification papers to avoid deportation.

“I can tell you half of my family would be eligible for deportation (for securing) a false Social Security card,” he said.

“Anyone who has family members, you know, who are undocumented knows that almost entirely everybody has secured some sort of false identification,” De Leon added. “That’s what you need to survive, to work.”

What about those individuals whose Social Security number is being stolen? Do they need to survive and work? What about the benefits being stolen from Americans and legal immigrants? Don’t they need those benefits?

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has previously maintained that “whoever, with the intent to deceive, falsely represents a number to be his or her SSN when, in fact, that number was not assigned to that person, shall be guilty of a felony and subject to a fine, imprisonment, or both.”

The IRS however, ignored those felonious crimes.

The American people should be demanding answers.
