On Monday, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar appeared to call for violence against a fellow member of Congress when she retweeted a suggestion that Republican Sen. Rand Paul deserved to be viciously assaulted by his neighbor.
The original tweet came from Roseanne Barr’s ex-husband, Tom Arnold, who was responding to Paul’s recent comments that Omar might appreciate America more if she had the opportunity to visit her home country of Somalia on a regular basis.
“After she’s visited Somalia she might come back and appreciate America more,” Paul said during a recent interview.
Arnold tweeted in reply, “Imagine being Rand Paul’s next door neighbor and having to deal with @RandPaul lying cowardly circular whiney bullcrap about lawn clippings. No wonder he ripped his toupee off.”

In November 2017, Paul was attacked from behind while mowing his lawn by his next door neighbor, 59-year-old Rene Boucher. The attack resulted in six broken ribs and a pleural effusion.
Boucher later pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge, received a 30 day prison sentence, and paid Paul was given $580,000 in damages.
A number of left-wing commentators mocked Paul after his assault, including Kentucky’s Secretary of State, Alison Lundergran Grimes, who reportedly joked about the incident that the senator could “be beaten.”

Now, apparently Omar thinks it’s funny too.
Donald Trump, Jr. came to Paul’s defense after Omar’s retweet.
“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar retweeting calls for political violence against @randpaul. I’m not surprised, and look forward to the forthcoming silence from the media on the issue,” he tweeted.

The media will no doubt be silent.
Omar’s Shameful Comments
What makes Omar’s apparent endorsement of violence against Paul even more befuddling is the fact that this is the same congresswoman who previously complained that she has received more death threats since President Donald Trump began criticizing her and her fellow “squad” members, Democrat Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib. Omar even claimed that Republican Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw criticisms of her incite violence.
So now is she calling for violence? Against a U.S. Senator?
Can you imagine if any Republican called for the opposite? The howling from the left and mainstream media would be non-stop.
As of this writing, Omar has yet to comment on the retweet, but what can she really say? It is not only hypocritical but indefensible.
Sen. Paul’s Communications Director Sergio Gor tweeted, “Shameful behavior from one of the LEADING voices & faces of the dem party. Why is @IlhanMN retweeting this abhorrent tweet? We should never tolerate violence or promote it!”

Shameful indeed. Violence should not be tolerated and should never be promoted.
It’s a lesson Ilhan Omar, if she has a conscience, should take to heart.
