Ilhan Omar Introduces Pro-BDS Resolution, Something Pelosi Has Called ‘Bigoted’ and ‘Dangerous’

We fully expect the House to draft a resolution condemning her for bigotry following this news.

Rep. Ilhan Omar has introduced a resolution supporting the BDS movement against Israel, an effort once described by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as “bigoted” and “dangerous.”

“We are introducing a resolution … to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our first amendment rights in regard to boycotting,” Omar told Al-Monitor. “And it is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement.”

The report suggests that the BDS resolution will likely not go over well, even with members of her own radicalized party.

Pelosi Says It’s Bigoted

Indeed, during a speech to the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference earlier this year, Pelosi labeled the movement ‘bigoted’ and ‘dangerous.’

“We must also be vigilant against bigoted or dangerous ideologies masquerading as policy, and that includes BDS,” she told those in attendance.

“I simply declare – to be anti-Semitic is to be anti-American. It has no place in our country.”

Blatant anti-Semitism is right up Omar’s alley, we get it. But hey, wait just a minute …

If Pelosi said BDS is anti-Semitic, and anti-Semitism is akin to being anti-American then … she just called Omar anti-American! Pelosi agrees with President Trump, it would seem. We either need her to strike that resolution down calling Trump’s tweets racist or we need one in which Pelosi is condemned for the same thing.

It Gets Worse

In the text of Omar’s bill, she actually compares Israel to Nazi Germany.

“Whereas Americans of conscience have a proud history of participating in boycotts to advocate for human rights abroad, including -,” the resolution reads.

Example number two states, “Boycotting Nazi Germany from March 1933 to October 1941 in response to the dehumanization of the Jewish people in the lead-up to the Holocaust.”

Jewish lawmaker Lee Zeldin (R-NY) linked BDS to the terrorist organization Hamas.

“The BDS movement has not distanced itself from Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization,” he railed. “BDS supporters individually are not distancing themselves from Hamas either.”

Omar, as President Trump has explained, is “pro-terrorist.” She supports Hamas.

Hamas has been listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State since 1997. Yet Omar defended Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel in May that killed four civilians.

Despite being a clear anti-Semite and pushing legislation Pelosi calls ‘bigoted,’ Omar remains a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Surely she’ll be removed after pulling this stunt, right?
