If you liken Democrat policies with the thinking of a small child, things begin to make sense. Every child wishes for world peace, the rich to share their wealth, and a nation without borders so everyone can live in harmony.
Start to factor in actual laws and the reality of dangers posed by those who don’t view the world in the same way, and those dreams remain just that – child-like dreams.
The world is a complicated place, and while it would be nice for everyone to live in harmony, it simply isn’t realistic. America needs to secure their borders. They need to enforce their laws.
A similar lesson was doled out by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen who, during a congressional hearing exchange with Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) had to explain the basics of illegal immigration.

Murray questioned Nielsen on whether or not her department had an alternative to detention when somebody enters the country illegally rather than using specific ports of entry.
“I just want to say again — if you cross in between the ports of entry…” Nielsen began before being interrupted by the pro-illegal Democrat.
Murray then chided the DHS secretary saying, “I know what your philosophy is.”
Nielsen swiftly responded by explaining that illegal immigration and the enforcement of laws pertaining to it are not a child-like philosophy. Rather, it’s the law.
“It’s not a philosophy, it’s a law Congress passed,” Nielsen fired back. “So those people need to come to the ports if they want to seek asylum.”

This was not the only lesson Nielsen delivered to Murray.
In further testimony, Murray took exception to the administration’s increased detention rates for asylum seekers, specifically pregnant women.
The Senator suggested that detaining pregnant women was “cruel and an embarrassment to our country.”
Nielsen however, explained that detention centers have gone out of their way to aid such women, providing prenatal care, separate housing, specialists, and officials who take detainees to appointments.
She also added that the blame isn’t on DHS, it’s on those who broke the law.
“I will say the reason they’re detained is because they illegally crossed our border,” Nielsen said.
Murray was not amused and suggested that the secretary is trying to discourage people from seeking asylum in the United States.
“No,” she responded, “I’m trying to discourage them from breaking the law.”
