Last night, the New England Patriots scored one of the greatest comeback victories in Super Bowl history, overcoming a 28-9 deficit entering the 4th quarter before defeating the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime.
With the Patriots down substantially heading into the 4th quarter, many in the media declared the game over, handing the Super Bowl to the Atlanta Falcons:
The Falcons now have a 91.6% chance of winning Super Bowl LI. Live analysis: https://t.co/mk4bqHgeQr

Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless even called the game before halftime:
I’m sure my partner Shannon Sharpe thinks this game is over. Starting to feel like it.

Well, that’s it. The Atlanta Falcons are Super Bowl champions.

Wish the Patriots’ offense had been able to get off the ground the way Gaga did. What an aerial display, unlike Brady’s. She was good.

Now that the Patriots are officially Super Bowl champions, some are comparing their comeback victory to that of President Donald J. Trump, who the media declared dead many times throughout the election, essentially handing Hillary Clinton the presidency even before Election Day.
President Trump, who is friends with Tom Brady, coach Bill Belichick, and Patriots owner Bob Kraft, took to Twitter to celebrate the Patriots’ comeback:
What an amazing comeback and win by the Patriots. Tom Brady, Bob Kraft and Coach B are total winners. Wow!

Even CNN highlighted the comparisons between last night’s game and the 2016 election, with one person joking that the Falcons halftime lead would unravel after FBI Director James Comey investigates them:
Sure, Atlanta’s up big now, but wait until the Comey letter drops in the 4th quarter. #SuperBowl

CNN’s Ana Navarro made a similar observation on Twitter:
Some time in the 3rd Quarter, Comey sent out a letter saying he was investigating the Falcons.

Our readers will likely remember that many Democrats have directly blamed FBI Director James Comey for Hillary Clinton’s loss, denying that their candidate could have ever lost to then-candidate Donald Trump on the merits. This picture perfectly sums up Hillary’s likely feelings following the Falcons’ loss:
The liberal media predicted a solid Hillary victory going into election night, with folks like Nate Silver giving the Democrat a 71.4% chance of defeating President Trump. Larry Sabato, whose “Crystal Ball” electoral predictions are cited across the media landscape, said Hillary would receive 322 Electoral College votes to Trump’s 2016. We all know how that turned out.
Turns out, the media doesn’t do fake predictions just for politics!
