Hillary Clinton Makes Curious Claims About Trump Dossier

Lying is so habitual with Hillary Clinton, that the real news story will be the day she doesn’t make something up.

Clinton appeared on Comedy Central with Trevor Noah, presumably because the stories she can share are laugh-out-loud funny, and made a pair of eye-raising claims about the Trump/Russia dossier her campaign paid for.

First up, Clinton claimed that paying for the dossier did not amount to collusion with a foreign entity.

“Of course there is [a difference between the paying for the dossier and Russian collusion],” she explained to Noah.

Clinton went on to explain that it was a simple case of opposition research, it was thoroughly legal but admits her lawyer took up the offer to continue working on the material prior to the election.

“It was research that started by a Republican donor during the primary, and then when Trump got the nomination for the Republican Party, the people doing it came to my campaign lawyer [Marc Elias] and said, ‘would you like us to continue it?'” she admitted.

“He said yes,” Clinton continued. “He’s an experienced lawyer, he knows what the law is, he knows what opposition research is.”

Odd, in that the former Democrat presidential candidate, according to CNN last week, “was unaware of the now-infamous dossier of allegations about Donald Trump and Russia prior to Buzzfeed’s publishing of the document earlier this year.”

Clinton also claimed that the information in the dossier did not become public until after the election – a conspicuous claim at best.

“So this thing didn’t come out until after the election and it’s still being evaluated,” she charged.

Rowan Scarborough of the Washington Times reports that while the dossier was not identified as a source, “some of the dossier’s more scandalous allegations did surface in the Washington news media before Nov. 8.”

“Her campaign helped spread them around to bash candidate Donald Trump,” Scarborough writes. “The campaign used Twitter and TV surrogates to say the information was proof he and Russia were in cahoots to defeat Mrs. Clinton.”

In short – she knew about the dossier, she knew her campaign lawyer paid for it, and she knew the allegations contained within were being made public in the leadup to the election.
