Fox News’ Laura Ingraham had a pair of guests on to talk about the recent shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
Mike Jordan, a local, was one of the guests. His son witnessed the church shooting. Jordan wasn’t shy about voicing his opinion that had somebody been armed inside the church, lives could have been saved.
Jordan said his son might have been that person, but while he usually carries, he didn’t on this day thinking a church would be a safe place.
“A small town like this, you know, people go to church, they disarm, leave their guns in the car, because you don’t expect something like this to happen,” he explained. “What if this was the day he didn’t leave that firearm at home? What if he did take it with him?”
Jordan’s pro-Second Amendment views should have been clear from the start, as he was sporting an epic t-shirt during the segment. It read, “Buy a gun. Annoy a liberal.”

Jordan continued talking about the church shooting, saying an armed individual could have, at the very least, provided a distraction for the shooter.
“If you have one person on the inside that is armed to return fire, it may not have stopped people from dying… but it would have been a distraction, it would have gotten that guy’s attention,” he claimed.

Jordan is spot on. The leftist argument against guns went incredibly wrong in this case. Republicans have often argued that the gun issue in this country stems from mental health issues and better screening for such issues. The shooter is known to have escaped a mental health facility in 2012.
Additionally, he would have been stopped from accessing firearms if not for an error by the Air Force in reporting a conviction for domestic violence.
And last but not least, the gunman was indeed stopped by a good guy with a gun who fired back at him.

Authorities believe the armed neighbor saved ‘countless’ lives by going after the gunman.

I hope the survivors sue the Air Force for their negligence and that the mental facility he escaped from looses its’ license to operate. All branches of our military need to conduct a study proving they have complied in every similar instance and where they didn’t, they need to hunt that individual down and remove any firearm they may have. Rules work for everybody when they are enforced on everybody.
