On Monday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo insisted that he has told New Yorkers the “truth” since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His statement raised eyebrows due to the nursing home scandal and other investigations into his actions during and before the pandemic.
Cuomo made his remarks during a press conference.

Gov. Cuomo: ‘I Have Told You The Facts On COVID From Day One’
“I am telling you as I sit here — I have told you the facts on COVID from day one,” the governor insisted.
Cuomo continued, “Whether they were easy, whether they were hard, I told you the truth.”
“While a lot of people were talking politics and a lot of people were talking theory and a lot of people were trying to deny because they didn’t want to deliver bad news, I told you the truth,” Cuomo claimed.
Cuomo is currently under multiple investigations – even after the Biden Justice Department declined to probe civil rights violations in the nursing home scandal – including whether his administration intentionally produced misinformation about the actual number of nursing home resident deaths.

NY AG James Still Investigating
At the beginning of the pandemic, Cuomo issued a policy of forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-19-positive patients.
The policy was eventually done away with, but not until thousands reportedly died over the course of weeks.
New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report in January accusing the Cuomo administration of undercounting the nursing home deaths by at least 50 percent.
AG James is a Democrat.
Many critics believe the Cuomo administration knowingly and intentionally undercounted the deaths to protect the then-positive image of his office.
Cuomo is also under investigation for alleged sexual harassment.
On Monday, Cuomo urged New Yorkers to continue following his advice.

Cuomo: ‘I Know New Yorkers. Give Them The Facts!’
“I believe in you,” Cuomo said. “I believe in New Yorkers. I believe if they get the truth and they get the facts, they will do the right thing.”
“I’m a lifelong New Yorker,” the governor said. “I know New Yorkers.”
“Give them the facts!” Cuomo declared.
