Two students were proudly highlighted by their elementary school for a display of patriotism, tending to the American flag during a driving rainstorm.
When their school was hit with terrible weather, Isaac Davis and Nate Helmuth sprang into action, not only taking the flag down but completing the 13-fold ceremony and protecting it as they brought it inside.

Two Florida elementary school students are being praised for their show of respect for the American flag despite the pouring rain.
Isaac Davis and Nate Helmuth, both 11 years old, are safety patrols at Coppergate Elementary School in Middleburg and are in charge of lowering Old Glory at dismissal time.
However, last week, a torrential rainstorm passed over the school, making flag duty a wetter-than-usual experience. Still, driving rains could not stop Isaac and Nate from doing their duty.
The two brought the flag down and completed the 13 folds while standing in the pouring rain.
The Coppergate Elementary School proudly shared their actions on social media, proclaiming “We are so proud of Nate and Isaac for their responsibility, respect, devotion to duty, and love of country.”

To nobody’s surprise, one of the boys had both parents serve in the military, clearly handing down their love of country and the flag to their son.
The response to the post was overwhelmingly positive.
“Amazing to see these young men show such respect for our flag and our nation,” wrote one viewer. “Well done gentlemen!”
“Both these young men, their parents and teachers should be commended!” another added. “Thank you for showing respect to our flag.”

All in a days work for Nate and Isaac.
“I feel like we have good people in the country and that we should all be good,” Isaac explained.
