In an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed that Iranians weren’t protesting against the regime, but for “different reasons.”
“These are Largely Students in the Street”
Pelosi spoke to George Stephanopoulos about the shooting down of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 572 by Iranian anti-aircraft troops last week, and the protests that followed in Iran.
“These are largely students in the street,” Pelosi claimed. Stephanopoulos highlighted that this wasn’t simply a protest about the shooting down of the plane, but against the regime too.
“They’re calling out the regime for lying. They’re saying death to Khomeini as well,” he said.
Speaker Pelosi dismissed this, however, and doubled down.
“After the taking out of Soleimani, there were protesters in the street, joined together, as you know, against us. That wasn’t good,” she said. “Taking down this plane is a terrible, terrible tragedy. And they should be held accountable for letting commercial flights go at a time that was so, so dangerous.
“But there are different reasons why people are in the street,” she said, adding that the situation should not be “escalated” by America until the government has “exhausted every other remedy.”
The Islamic regime in Iran formed from corrupt thieves. This is a truth that no one can ignore. In addition they spread terrorism in the world.
But why some "Americans" support these corrupt thieves?

After the interview, the hashtag #NancyPelosiFakeNews began trending across Twitterl; many Iranians infuriarted, and called her out for her ignorant comments. Some attached photos and videos from the protests.
While the Iranian people are being killed by the mullahs in the protests, you are lying to the American people! The real people of Iran don't want the Democrats-backed terrorists. Shame on you for playing with the blood of Iranian people.

Of course, leftists couldn’t handle this, and declared that the trend was being manufactured by the President himself, with all those commenting being simply bot accounts.

Iranians are Fighting for their Freedom
Like she is with most things, Pelosi is completely ignorant of the facts of the situation. She has no idea what the people of Iran are going through right now. An estimated 1,500 people have been killed by security forces are trying to quash the protests, and they’re still not stopping!
Pelosi should be standing by those fighting for their freedom, not dismissing them as just “students.” We are not their enemy, and they are not ours.
