Ex-ICE Director Wanted to ‘Beat’ Dem Rep For Exploiting Migrant Children

Thomas Homan, the former acting director for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), admits he wanted to beat Democrat Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García (IL) for calling him a racist and exploiting migrant children to score political points.

Homan, who also served as executive associate director of ICE under Barack Obama, was called to testify Friday at a congressional hearing on family separations at the border.

Garcia began questioning Homan by playing the race card, accusing him of not caring enough about dead children because they look different than other children.

“Mr. Homan, I’m a father. Do you have children? How can you possibly allow this to happen under your watch?” Garcia asked. “Do you not care? Is it because these children don’t look like children that are around you? I don’t get it. Have you ever held a deceased child in your arms?”

Homan eviscerated the Democrat lawmaker, calling his comments “disgusting,” noting that yes, he has actually held a dead child in his arms, and charging “for you to sit there and insult my integrity and my love of my country and for children, that’s why this whole thing needs to be fixed.”

Could Have Been Worse

In an interview with Fox & Friends, Homan revealed that he actually had to restrain himself from reacting more harshly to Garcia’s pathetic attempts to score political points by smearing a respected official.

“If you notice, I hesitated a minute before I started yelling because I actually think about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room because when you tell somebody that’s spent their career saving lives that I don’t care about dying children and I’m a racist, that’s where I broke and that’s where I had enough,” Homan explained.

Why Aren’t They Mad At Obama?

Perhaps Garcia should have paid attention when Democrats on the House Oversight Committee were caught posting Obama-era photos of “kids in cages” in an attempt to highlight current conditions at the border.

Then he could have focused his outrage at the proper administration rather than coming close to a ‘beating.’

Homan recently revealed it was the previous administration that was responsible for building cages to house illegal immigrants.

“I’ve been to that facility, where they talk about cages,” Homan previously stated. “That facility was built under President Obama under Secretary Jeh Johnson. I was there because I was there when it was built.”

It’s only racist, in Garcia’s eyes, when the current administration does it.
