Disney Seemingly Admits Defeat In Culture Wars – ‘Quiet The Noise’

Bob Iger Disney

After years of going shamelessly woke, Disney appears to have finally admitted defeat in the culture wars that are currently raging in this country.

Disney CEO Backs Down

The New York Post reported that Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger assured investors this week that Disney will “quiet the noise” in the culture war that has pitted conservatives against the increasingly radically liberal entertainment world.

He said this during an investors presentation at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, adding that over the next decade, Disney will double its investment in theme parks and cruise ships.

Iger’s latest comments mirror ones he made back in April, when he responded to a fed-up investor who complained that Disney has gone from “a place of magic for children” to an “ideological company serving the LGBTQ” community that promoted a “woke agenda.”

“Our primary mission needs to be to entertain … and to have a positive impact on the world,” Iger said in response at the time. “I’m very serious about that. It should not be agenda-driven.”

Iger Discusses Parents

“We should be sensitive to the fact that parents have different levels of comfort with the content that is delivered to their children. I want parents to be able to trust the content that we’re creating for their children,” he continued, adding that Disney is “committed to delivering age-appropriate content for family audiences while also telling stories that reflect the world around us and that foster greater understanding, greater perspective, greater acceptance of all people.”

“My hope that Disney continues to be a source of hope and optimism for the world,” he concluded. “And we’re honored to actually carry forth Walt’s legacy of inspiring joy and wonder for everyone.”

Disney got political last year, when it spoke out against Florida legislation restricting classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis fired back by slamming “woke Disney” and teaming up with the state legislature to strip the company of self-governing authority over the parks.

‘Same Mistake As Bud Light’

This comes a month after Disney faced a boycott for teaming up with a gender-fluid social media influencer to promote women’s clothes. Former Anheuser-Busch executive Anson Frericks warned that this was a “big mistake” similar to the one that Bud Light made earlier this year, when it partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

“They are making the same mistake as Bud Light, and I think they’ve been making the same mistake as Bud Light for over a year now,” Frericks told Fox Business. “They’re making a big mistake getting involved in these controversial political issues that have nothing to do with the mission statement of what they’re trying to achieve.”

“They’re making a big mistake getting involved in these controversial political issues that have nothing to do with the mission statement of what they’re trying to achieve,” he continued.

Brands everywhere are learning the hard way that “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed. We’re glad to see that Disney is finally getting the message that there are millions of parents out there who have no intention of allowing their children to be indoctrinated with their woke agenda.

  1. Iger and Disney never understood hat their war wasn’t against Desantis or conservatives, their war was against PARENTS. PARENTS decde what they want their children expose to and what they don’t. Desantis doesn’t make that decision, Trump doesn’t make that decision and B-B-B-Biden CERTAINLY doesn’t make that decision. Neither does Iger or Disney.

  2. A “Grain of Salt”? More like a salt lick for cattle. Unless Iger’s war on America and his devaluation of Disney are part of a scheme to tank Disney’s stock in advance of its purchase by Amazon (with a handsome kick back to Iger), then Iger is a committed culture warrior and, like all Leftists, shouldn’t be trusted. This is about breathing space while he attempts to recover from the disasters which were the Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones 5, Elemental, and the other dreck Disney’s been producing. As soon as he feels he’s the option of doing so, he’ll go back to the fray. His record offers no reason for hope and, soon enough, we’ll again have cause to rue his existence. Disney is lost until Iger is gone..

    1. Do you think Disney is pushing this same BS in other countries? Probably not. I hope Disney’s and their shareholders lose a lot of money and I hope it sinks their business. If the shareholders don’t have Iger’s fired, then it just uncovers they were foster this whole agenda. Who the F*!k does Disney think they are. They aren’t paying my bills, home, food, clothing etc. I will boycott Disney permanently. Screw Disney, Iger and it’s shareholders.

  3. I think I will take a “Wait and See” attitude regarding Disney’s attempt to “quiet the noise.” Why? Because Disney may not backtrack on their woke agenda. They may just get sneakier about it.

  4. Disney chose to openly oppose the parental right’s bill that “prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade […] and requires school districts to adopt procedures for notifying parents if there is a change in services from the school regarding a child’s mental, emotional or physical health or well-being.”
Disney chose to go against parent’s rights. They cannot be trusted. Boycott them until they go broke. Indoctrinating little children into sexual perversion is inexcusable. Placing the school/government over the parent’s rights is just as alarming, yet expected from the Democrat socialists.

  5. I don’t see how Disney is going to reverse course and remake its image as anything but an evil transgender aggressor. Will I be amazed if the public changes its community mind-set of Disney’s agenda. After all, Disney has been at this change for over two decades. From mouse to vermin.
