Democrat Rep. Swalwell Still Spending Campaign Funds On Glitzy Lifestyle FEC Records Show

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) just can’t seem to break himself of the high life. Once again, records from the Federal Election Commission obtained by The Daily Caller show some hefty election off-year expenses for Swalwell.

Filings submitted to the FEC for the third quarter of 2021 for the campaign show quite an extensive list of expensive restaurants, sports events, liquor delivery, limo services, and even casinos.

Swalwell’s Jet-Setting Ways

A quick perusal of Swalwell’s expenses tell an interesting tale. He has frequented the most expensive restaurants in Washington D.C., several Washington Nationals baseball games, and apparently getting there in style with limo services.

When he wasn’t at the Wunter Garten beer garden, he was having his alcohol delivered to his home with the Drizzly liquor delivery app. Then there were the trips to Vegas, and the Cosmopolitan Casino.

But Swalwell was not flying commercial like the rest of us, he was going by private jet, and not just any private jet but the luxury JetSuiteX private jet service.

A Pattern Of Spending

This is not new for Swalwell.

Back in July, the FEC found that the Swalwell for Congress campaign spent around $500,000 on the same sort of indulgences, limos, expensive eateries, and alcohol delivery.

There was also a $20,000 bill from the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay hotel where Swalwell’s wife Brittany had previously worked.

While in either case Rep. Swalwell has not been accused of any wrongdoing, in July, when the records for the second quarter of 2021 appeared, $500,000 seemed a curious amount for a Congressman in a non-election year, and whose district reliably votes 70% Democrat.

“The Spy Who ‘Loved’ Me”

Perhaps the most famous, or infamous, incident involving Rep. Swalwell was his involvement with a suspected Chinese spy.

Christine Fang, also known as Fang Fang, who worked on Swalwell’s 2014 reelection campaign, and eventually was able to install an intern in his California office.

According to a CNN report, Swalwell says he was “shocked” when the FBI informed him after Fang had fled the country, that she was suspected of being a spy, who was trying to establish relationships with American politicians.

Swalwell insists he cooperated fully with the FBI and was also not accused of any wrongdoing in the case. He says he never divulged any sensitive information to Fang but would not say whether there was a sexual relationship between them.
