Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Thursday declared a public emergency as Arizona and Texas continue to send busses carrying illegal immigrants into the city.

Bowser blamed the “growing humanitarian crisis” not on the administration for allowing illegal immigrants to cross the southern border, but on Greg Abbott and Doug Ducey – the Republican governors of Texas and Arizona respectively – for daring to transport them to D.C.

CNN reports that Abbott has now sent more than 190 busses carrying 7,900 illegal immigrants to D.C. alone, while other busses have gone to New York City and Chicago.

They are all blue cities that have declared themselves to be a ‘sanctuary’ for illegal immigrants.

“We are staying true to our D.C. values and building a system that will support a compassionate, consistent, and well-coordinated response,” Bowser said in a statement regarding the state of emergency.

She has called the effort by Arizona and Texas a “political stunt.”

D.C Declares State of Emergency After Being Overrun by Illegal Immigrants

In one of the more impressive feats of lacking in self-awareness, Washington D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau, in commenting on the state of emergency due to an influx of illegal immigrants, lamented being turned into a “border town.”

“In many ways, the governors of Texas and Arizona have turned us into a border town,” she condemned.

“We don’t know how long this will take to resolve. We don’t know how long they will continue bussing.”

Just so we’re clear here, a humanitarian crisis of illegal immigrants in actual border towns – okay – but a humanitarian crisis in deep blue Washington, D.C, and it’s an all-out state of emergency?

Nadeau was singing a very different tune not that long ago. She was calling for the abolition of ICE and happily declaring Washington D.C. to be a sanctuary city in which law enforcement does not cooperate with agents pursuing illegal immigrants.

Suddenly It’s an Emergency

Mayor Bowser has called for “a coordinated federal response” and twice begged the Pentagon for help in dealing with the illegal immigrants by requesting National Guard troops aid in handling the “humanitarian crisis.”

Her requests were denied both times.

Nadeau added that the Republican governors “have created this crisis.”

Imagine being so intellectually weak that you can’t process information beyond two steps. The federal government ‘created this crisis.’ The Biden administration has ‘created this crisis.’ Nobody else.

Even Bowser has reluctantly hinted as such, insisting the federal response to her cities crisis “has been lacking in some respects.”

Abbott began bussing illegal immigrants from Texas into Chicago last week. He was saying he looks forward to the blue city’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot greeting them with open arms.

“Mayor Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them,” he said.

Lightfoot’s office issued a statement calling Abbott’s bussing of illegal immigrants to Chicago “racist” and “without shame.”

She then started shipping them to locations in the suburbs, frustrating local officials there, which is pretty ‘racist’ and ‘without shame’ if you ask us.
