CNN’s Ratings Have Plummeted Since Trump Left Office – Down Nearly 50% In Key Demographic

CNN has seen their ratings plummet following Donald Trump’s departure from office, including a nearly 50% drop among the 25-to-54 demographic considered most important to advertisers.

A Fox News analysis of Nielsen data shows the anti-Trump network saw an average of 2.5 million primetime viewers from November 4th to Inauguration Day, but only averaged 1.6 million primetime viewers from that date through March 15th.

The Daily Mail, reporting on the staggering numbers notes, “CNN is losing around a million viewers on average each night since President Donald Trump left office.”

CNN’s overall prime-time viewership has dropped 36% since Biden entered the White House.

CNN Is Lost Without Trump

Following previous reports that CNN’s ratings had cratered in the first week of the Biden administration, the network attempted to focus on Fox News instead.

Media gatekeeper and Fox stalker Brian Stelter published a piece in which he accused Fox News of becoming a 24/7 Tucker Carlson network and openly wondered if Trump was the reason the rival network had struggled.

“‘Never before had a network been so closely affiliated with a commander-in-chief,’’ Stelter lamented, sharing a quote from the Washington Post.

And yet here we have clearly defined evidence of CNN’s demise in the post-Trump era.

Legendary journalist Ted Koppel in 2018 mocked Stelter and his network saying CNN’s “ratings would be in the toilet without Donald Trump.”

He seems to have been accurate with his prediction.

CNN Not The Only Ones To See Their Ratings Drop Post-Trump

As the Daily Mail points out, Fox News also saw a decline in their ratings, though certainly less sizable as that suffered by CNN.

“Fox News suffered its own ratings hit after its viewership dropped 13 percent in January,” they report.

Mediaite also details how Newsmax “has seen its ratings drop, losing more than half of its total day audience.”

And the Epoch Times notes MSNBC saw a drop in viewership across each of their primetime broadcasts.

Variety describes news of the ratings plunge across all major news networks as the “Trump slump” and suggests the media may not recover until Trump reemerges in the spotlight.

“The next opportunity for Trump to dominate the headlines will be if he declares as a candidate for the 2024 elections in 2023, with over two years to go until that potential milestone,” they write.

“In the meantime, the left-leaning networks will have to rely on politicians making the occasional gaffe and just get used to the post-Trump slump.”

Or they could start accurately reporting on the Biden administration, their self-induced border crisis, the impending tax hikes, the kids in migrant facilities.

I’m sure the American people would be plenty interested in that.

As an aside, the one survivor in the ratings massacre has been the man Stelter loathes over at Fox News.

“The only one who appears to have been left relatively unscathed is Tucker Carlson’s ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight,’ with about a 5 percent dip in viewership,” the Epoch Times writes.

Intelligent analysis of the day’s news events is surviving the Biden era. Who could have imagined?
