C-SPAN Host Quick On The Dump Button As Callers Suggest Killing Trump And Others Over Jan. 6

C-SPAN threats Donald Trump

There is nothing like live TV and the sudden urge of some people to go hog wild, and Monday morning was no exception for those tuned into C-SPAN.

The most urgent requirement of Monday morning’s host seemed to be that he should be quick on the “dump” button. Not one, but two callers who phoned in to discuss the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol and the House Committee investigating it suggested that former President Donald Trump and perhaps others be killed for alleged roles in the violence.

Bring On The Crazy

The C-SPAN morning segment aired a few hours before a second televised hearing by the House Select Committee on Jan. 6.

The first caller identified himself as “Robert.” He stated he was, “a right to life Democrat. I voted for Mr. Biden. I did not vote for Mr. Trump either time. Mr. Trump is a great deceiver to my great born-again evangelical Christians.”

“Robert” continued saying, “They’re (people who are not testifying even though they have been subpoenaed) scared as heck because they know it was sedition, and they don’t want to be hung as our first president would [do with seditionists] … he’d line them up and put them in a firing squad —” At that point, “Robert” was summarily dismissed.

The next caller was seemingly a bit more hinged. He stated he was from Wyoming, and really just wanted to rail against Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and her involvement on the Committee.

Then came caller number three. Caller number three was not the least bit shy about what he thought should happen to Donald Trump. “Aaron,” who claimed to be from Virginia, identified as an independent.

Aaron referenced the United States killing the Rosenbergs for treason, saying, “You know how we if we killed the Rosenbergs for giving the Soviets information, if we did that, if we killed them over such a small thing, why can’t we kill Trump over trespassing?”

You should probably first crack a history book before calling into a nationally televised show.

Not Quite As Drastic

There may be people wondering if the C-SPAN callers in question will be getting a visit from the Secret Service. One person who will not be is Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Graham apparently had an agenda of his own that day.

According to a recently published book entitled, “This Will No Pass,” written by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, Graham made a phone call to former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone during the violence at the Capitol.

Graham allegedly told Cipollone that if Trump did not speak out more forcefully about the violence, “we’ll be asking you for the 25th Amendment” to remove Trump from office.

Graham was not alone in considering the 25th amendment, according to yet another “tell all” about the events of the day from ABC News Jonathan Karl entitled, “Betrayal.”

According to Karl, former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also gave the option some serious consideration. So much so that Pompeo allegedly, “asked for a legal analysis of the 25th Amendment and how it would work.”
