Buttigieg: I Will Open Up Medicare to Everyone, Including Illegals

Pete Buttigieg said at a campaign event on Sunday that he is in favour of opening up his Medicare plan to anyone, regardless of their immigration status.

“We Need Wholesale Reform”

Buttigieg said at the “fireside chat” event in Nevada organized by Planned Parenthood that he regards “all DACA recipients as American as I am,” and that while “the system” doesn’t acknowledge them, he, and the majority of the American people, do.

“It’s one of the reasons why we need wholesale reform. As you know, the Affordable Care Act, one of the many missing pieces that it has is that the exchanges are not available to the undocumented. I would change that, and that would be a change that would come with the Medicare-for-All-Who-Want-It plan that I am proposing,” he said.

Buttigieg expressed a similar desire to open up Medicare in a conversation in Spanish with a voter in December.

“So the most important thing for me is that we offer the opportunity for health care to all in our country, and this includes the opportunity to buy this plan of Medicare-for-All-who-want-it,” he told her. “That is our solution. And this opportunity to buy this plan is for everyone regardless of their immigration status.”

Buttigieg Just Wants Open Borders!

At the Nevada event, Buttigieg said that one solution is just to create a path to citizenship for illegal aliens so that they were citizens to begin with.

“We can’t go on where every four years, people are wondering whether their safety and security in your own country is at stake,” he said, adding that while he will “of course take the administrative action to fix DACA, what we really have to do is to have a permanent fix by creating that path to citizenship with DACA recipients at the front of the line.”

And here the truth outs. Buttigieg and his ilk pretend to be “moderates,” painting themselves as a “rational opposition” to Bernie Sanders and other hard-leftists, but while they might no go so far on economics, they are perhaps even more radical on areas, including immigration. They’re fans of open borders and mass migration, and to hell with how much money it costs, or how many American citizens lose their lives as a result.
