Brian Cox, who is best known for starring on the hit show “Succession,” is speaking out this week to blast the “woke” culture that has taken over society in recent years, going so far as to blame millennials for it.

Cox Torches ‘Woke Culture’
While being interviewed by Piers Morgan on Tuesday night, Cox was asked, âAre things worse now, or is our perception of life worse because of things like social media, inflaming everything?â
âWell, I donât think social media helps. It hinders rather than helps,” replied Cox, 77. “And I think it points up two readily inadequacies that we can actually â and the whole woke culture, I think is truly awful.”
âAnd the shaming culture, which I feel quite strongly about,â Morgan said in agreement. âThis incessant need to shame and bury people.â
âI donât know where it comes from,” Cox continued. “Who are the arbiters of this shaming? And itâs very hard to pin them down, and, it turns out, itâs usually a bunch of millennials. And who gave them the halos? I suppose in a way theyâre probably saying, âWell youâve all screwed it up so we may as well do something about it.â But itâs from the wrong principle. It comes from the wrong place.â

‘It’s Complete Ignorance’
Elsewhere in this interview, Morgan discussed reports that a theater production of The Sound Of Music is issuing warnings to audiences about Nazi references in the show.
“I canât stand the way we want to rewrite history,” Cox said, according to Fox News. “I canât stand the way we donât want to acknowledge history. And itâs so important to acknowledge what our history is because that defines who we are and where weâve gotten to. And without acknowledging history, we are screwed. Youâre well and truly screwed.”
“And I think weâve not done that nearly enough,” he added. “I think it really is what other people deciding what we ought to be.”
Not stopping there, Cox brought up efforts to censor the works of the legendary author Roald Dahl.
“Itâs complete ignorance,” he lamented. “Itâs an ignorant state that creates this sort of âoh thatâs bad, thatâs good.â Itâs ridiculous to say of course thatâs what happened.”

Cox Slams ‘Cancel Culture’
This is not the first time that Cox has made comments such as these, as last year, he sat down with Morgan to blast “cancel culture.”
âItâs a kind of modern-day McCarthyism, really,” Cox said at the time, according to Deadline. âItâs a kind of raid on peopleâs sensibilities in order to reduce them and make them⌠I donât know, there is so much hypocrisy involved with the whole thing.â
âI find the whole thing completely hypocritical,” he added. “I am not religious but there is a thing in the bible where it says, âLet he or she without sin cast the first stoneâ and there seems to be a lot of casting of stones. And it is like a virus.â

Woke culture has completely taken over Hollywood, so it’s rare to find a star that is brave enough to actually speak out against it. We applaud Cox for being courageous enough to slam both woke and cancel culture, and we’d love to see more celebrities do the same!
