Biden Confronted At Press Conference After Poll Shows Most Americans Think He Is Unqualified

Biden Confronted At Press Conference, Poll Shows Americans Think He Is Unqualified

President Joe Biden was confronted by a harsh new reality at a press conference on Sunday.

During the press briefing on the ongoing efforts to evacuate Americans who remain in Afghanistan, a reporter asked the president if he was aware of a poll that shows that a majority of Americans no longer think he is competent enough to be in office.

The new poll comes in the aftermath of the disastrous pull out of American troops from Afghanistan, leaving thousands of American citizens as well as billions of dollars of American military equipment behind as the capital city of Kabul once again fell into the control of the Taliban.

Biden’s Reaction And What Poll Says

Biden’s response at the news that such a poll exists was that he had not seen the poll. CBS News reporter Ed O’Keefe said that, “It’s out there.” Biden then shook his head no and laughed.

The CBS News poll shows that, while most Americans felt that it was time to remove American troops from Afghanistan, they disapprove of the chaotic way in which it was carried out.

O’Keefe also informed Biden that the majority of Americans polled, “no longer consider you to be competent, focused, or effective at the job. What would you say to those Americans?”

Biden had originally stated that the removal of U.S. troops was “going to be hard and painful no matter when it started.”

According to the poll, 63% currently approve of U.S. forces leaving Afghanistan, while 47% approve of the way Biden handled the withdrawal. Biden’s overall approval rating of 58% in July has gone down to 50%.

When asked about the withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan, 44% of those surveyed said that the withdrawal had gone “very badly,” while 74% said it went, “very or somewhat” badly.

Questions About Joe Biden

The disaster in Afghanistan now has some openly questioning Joe Biden’s capabilities not only as Commander In Chief, but in general. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), is a former White House physician who served both Presidents Obama and Trump, and may have been one of the first members of Congress to call for Joe Biden to resign last week.

During an interview on the Fox News Channel, Jackson said that he does not believe that Biden is “cognitively prepared” to be the President.

Jackson also stated,“We’re looking horrible right now on the world stage; this is an absolute national embarrassment. And instead of being out in front of this and talking about what’s going on, and what went wrong, and what the plan was, and what we’re gonna do next, Biden’s just been in hiding again, as he always has.”

Jackson continued:

“Biden, once again, has failed us. He’s embarrassed us internationally. And, you know, honestly, it is time for him to leave. I’ve been saying this for a long time. I’ve been saying that he’s not cognitively prepared to be our president.

And this is just another example of his failure. And I think a lot of this is relevant to his cognitive ability. But he’s created a national security disaster for this country right now. And it’s time for him to move on, and somebody else needs to do this job. He is not fit to be our commander in chief. It’s time for him to resign.”

Calls For Impeachment Or The 25th Amendment

So far, it has only been Republicans who have publicly called for Joe Biden to resign or be removed from office. Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) tweeted, “After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?”

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), called on Congress to set up the body necessary to determine presidential fitness, something that was threatened during the Trump administration but never completed, declaring that “NOW is the time.”

Tenney also sent out a tweet calling on Biden to resign.

“It is now clear our Commander In Chief & his administration are incapable of or unwilling to perform their duties,” she tweeted. “If Biden does not resign, it is time for Congress to take action. Our military can’t be led in this manner, it is a national security disaster waiting to happen.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham chimed in to say that he supports the impeachment of Joe Biden, but with conditions.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “War Room Pandemic” podcast last week said that her staff was drawing up articles of impeachment.

“…Because I’m so disgusted with Joe Biden,” she stated. “You know I’ve already filed one set of articles of impeachment. But his failure as a president is unspeakable.”
