‘Betsy Ross’ Flag Pulled by Nike For Being Racist Was Used at Obama Inauguration

The ‘Betsy Ross’ flag pulled by Nike because Colin Kaepernick deemed it racist was featured prominently at the inauguration of this nation’s first black president, Barack Obama.

Nike went full social justice warrior when they pulled an American flag-themed sneaker design for the Fourth of July holiday because their activist and paid spokesman Colin Kaepernick complained the Betsy Ross design was offensive.

Kaepernick, according to a Wall Street Journal report, “reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery.”

And yet, Obama didn’t see it as being offensive apparently.

David Martosko, a political editor for the Daily Mail, posted one of the images from the 2013 inauguration with the caption, “That Betsy Ross flag sure fell out of fashion quickly.”

Byron York, a Fox News contributor, sent a message to Nike on social media: “The flag Colin Kaepernick told you was unacceptable on your shoes was displayed rather prominently at Barack Obama’s inauguration.”

Oops.

Outrage Over Nike’s Move

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey responded to Nike’s ill-advised business move by rescinding financial incentives the company was set to receive in a deal to open a multimillion-dollar manufacturing plant in the state.

“Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision,” wrote Ducey on Twitter. “I am embarrassed for Nike.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham complained about the unpatriotic move made by the company, adding that her family would no longer be purchasing their sneakers, flag or otherwise.

And customers, in general, have been fuming because Nike bowed to the whim of one lone moron in Kaepernick, while ignoring what they may have wanted.

Obama Touted the Betsy Ross Flag in the White House Website

Not only was the flag displayed at Obama’s inauguration, but a quick scan of the White House website archives shows the history of the American flag discussed on Flag Day in 2012.

Spoiler: They mention the super-racist Betsy Ross version.

“The first flag, which many say was sewn by a Philadelphia woman named Betsy Ross, had 13 stars and 13 stripes, representing the 13 American colonies,” the site reads.

Better take that down, Barack or Colin might give you a stern look.
