Hypocrisy, thy name is Bernard.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders made an appearance at a rally in Washington, D.C., with students protesting gun violence, and he brought a few armed guards to really drive the point home that ‘guns are bad.’
Sanders’s armed security detail – three in number – protected the former presidential candidate as he pushed his way through a crowd of adoring students.
It takes a brave man to navigate through a crowd like that when the people surrounding you are packing heat, doesn’t it, Mr. Sanders?

During his address to the crowd in D.C., Sanders praised students taking part in the National School Walkout, an event organized by liberal leaders, officials, and school administrators to protest guns in the wake of a shooting in Parkland, Florida, that claimed the lives of 17 individuals.
Sanders said the protesters need to summon the “courage to take out the NRA” and enact common-sense gun limitations.
Perhaps the congressional curmudgeon should tone down his ‘take out the NRA’ rhetoric considering it was one of his supporters who shot congressman Steve Scalise and looked to gun down numerous other Republicans on a softball field in Virginia.

Seems slightly hypocritical for a senator to flout armed guards as he partakes in an anti-gun rally involving supporters.
But then, can you blame him? Bernie Bros aren’t the most level-headed individuals.
Senator Barbara Boxley once claimed she was “fortunate” to have armed security to protect her from Sanders supporters at the Nevada State Democratic Party’s 2016 State Convention.

“Thank you to the young people throughout this country who are walking out today and who have the courage to do what the United States Congress is not doing: lead us forward to stop the slaughter that we have seen from coast to coast due to gun violence,” Sanders said to students engaged in the walkout.
If only the senator had the courage to make such a statement without armed security guards protecting him at every turn.
