Netflix Signs Michelle and Barack Obama to Multi-Year Deal

It’s a regular ol’ West Wing reunion over at Netflix these days.

After adding former National Security Adviser and Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, to their board less than two months ago, Netflix has announced a multi-year deal with Barack and Michelle Obama.

The deal will allow Hollywood’s favorite political couple to produce “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features.”

Essentially, they have carte blanche over whatever they feel like producing.

If anybody can spin a tale of fiction, it’d be the Obamas. That was their main platform for eight years.

Perhaps the first series can be titled, ‘If you like your plan, you can keep it.’

Or perhaps a documentary where the former President goes back and retraces his trip through all 57 states?

The New York Times has previously reported that Obama’s deal with Netflix would provide him with a “global” and “unfiltered” platform to the public – or as we like to call it, ‘the media.’

In a statement, Obama expressed his joy with being hired by Netflix in a deal that is sure to net he and his wife millions.

“Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world,” he said.

In March, Netflix announced that Susan Rice had been named to their Board of Directors, saying she “has tackled difficult, complex global issues with intelligence, integrity, and insight and we look forward to benefiting from her experience and wisdom.” (RELATED: Netflix Hires Former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice – Conservatives React).

Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer for Netflix, believes the Obamas “are uniquely positioned to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities and strive to change the world for the better.”

Oh, so they’re going to produce a documentary on President Trump?
