AOC, Pelosi Dress In Black to Mark ‘Solemn’ Impeachment

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy Pelosi dressed in solidarity Wednesday as the House of Representatives prepared to vote on articles of impeachment against President Trump.

CNN’s Dana Bash reports that Pelosi, along with several women in Congress, chose to wear black to indicate just how seriously they were taking impeachment.

“[Pelosi] is wearing black,” Bash tweeted. “One of her colleagues told me several of the female Democrats did that intentionally to signal it is a somber day.”

Meanwhile, AOC “showed up to work in a black coat” covering “what appeared to be a knee-length, dark-hued dress with a burgundy pussy-bow necktie,” the Daily Beast reported.

It’s much more symbolic in two ways: 1) Democrats on both ends of the spectrum – career politicians like Pelosi and newbies like AOC – are now in lockstep with their extremist ideology. 2) Black is symbolic of the funeral these two are walking their party into come 2020.

Faux Sadness

The House Speaker and her impeachment-obsessed colleagues think the American people are so dumb, that wearing black will convince them that they’re so ‘very sad’ about having to impeach President Trump.

“Speaker Pelosi, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other Democrats reportedly wore all black to signify a ‘somber’ day, ahead of an expected vote on two articles of impeachment,” the Daily Beast reports.

Behind the scenes, however, Pelosi knew full well that her congressional cohorts would be downright giddy about the historic day.

According to Axios, the Squad and other House extremists were instructed specifically to avoid “cheering” and to “keep it solemn” during the impeachment vote.

“House Democratic leaders told caucus members not to cheer or applaud when today’s impeachment vote totals are announced, and Democratic members described the day as sad and solemn,” the report reads.

“Don’t cheer, keep it solemn,” one Democratic member from a Trump-won district explained were the instructions.

Like a parent keeping their unruly children in line.

So Happy Together

Dressing in solidarity? What’s next for Nancy and AOC, sleepovers in footie pajamas?

It’s good to see them drop any pretense of being at opposite ends of the ideological spectrum. Not only are they dressing in solidarity, but their radical impeachment efforts indicate they are on the same exact page going forward.

We’ve come a long way since the days when Ocasio-Cortez would accuse Pelosi of acting like a racist, Pelosi mocking the Squad for being incapable of achieving anything, and the Squad threatening that the Speaker better come to them before she dares to talk.

See? Trump really does bring people together.
