Despite the fact that he was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted talk host Rush Limbaugh as a “racist” on social media, and said that he “cheapens” the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
AOC didn’t go to President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night. The socialist Democratic congresswoman claimed it would have legitimized what she believes is unlawful conduct by his administration. But she did go on Instagram where she gave her thoughts on Limbaugh receiving his award to her 4.2 million followers.
‘Virulent Racist’
“First of all, the Presidential Medal of Freedom is an extraordinarily sacred award. We’re talking about putting someone on the same level as Rosa Parks, for example, in terms of their contributions to American progress,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Rush Limbaugh is a virulent racist.”
Limbaugh announced Monday on his popular radio program that he had been diagnosed with “advanced lung cancer.” Rush said he won’t be on the air some days as he undergoes treatment.
President Trump decided to invite the Limbaugh to the State of the Union address, where first lady Melania Trump presented the medal to the conservative talk radio legend.
Rush was clearly emotional.

But Ocasio-Cortez was not having it.

AOC Makes Fun of Rush ‘Pretending to Be Surprised’
“To do it in the middle of a State of the Union, and not even dignify it with its own ceremony, as it has, there is all sorts of norms that are being violated,” AOC said. “Not just for people’s humanity but also, it truly just cheapens the value of it.”
Ocasio-Cortez made fun of Limbaugh for “pretending to be surprised,” saying his reaction was “such a joke.” It had been announced earlier on Tuesday that Limbaugh would be receiving the award.
“He had to like, pretend that this was some kind of Oprah moment, was so disingenuous, and to do that, and to give it to Rush Limbaugh when there were plenty of people in that audience that have contributed positively to the fabric of American society, much more, frankly, than he has, it’s red meat to his base,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Trump knows what he’s doing… he wants to assert that Rush Limbaugh is somehow on the same level as Rosa Parks, and it’s truly nauseating.”

Limbaugh is Deaf
Some on social media pointed out that Limbaugh is deaf, and the device he uses might be the reason for the reaction he had that some are interpreting as surprised.
Trust me; my son is reliant on his cochlear implant and they are completely useless in crowd situations; it all just becomes painful noise. And Rush looked REALLY ill. To go after a man obviously dying- no matter how much you disagree with him- is a new low for AOC.

AOC has zero class. So much for love and compassion when it comes to today’s Democratic Party!
