Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, accused Kayleigh McEnany of racism and misogyny, seemingly forgetting that transcripts exist…
AOC Completely Misunderstands Short Quote
Ocasio-Cortez, the congresswoman representing New York’s 14th district, read a short quote from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany posted on Twitter by Politico’s Jake Sherman. McEnany had referred to AOC as an advisor to former Vice President Joe Biden.
McEnany “wouldn’t be the first person to mistake a women of color for having a lower position or title than she does,” AOC tweeted, “but Kayleigh – in case you haven’t picked up a newspaper in two years, I’m a Congresswoman.”

Not bothering to check the full context of the extremely short quote, AOC continued her angry thread. The [Press Secretary’s] comment is steeped in a long, hurtful, & horrendous history of stripping women of color of titles and diminishing them to ‘the help,'” she wrote, accusing McEnany of racism and misogyny at the same time.
“Perhaps she isn’t aware that what she did is mired in racist history. If that is the case, I look forward to her apology tomorrow.”

Did She Forget That Transcripts Exist??
It didn’t take long for Press Secretary McEnany to fire back. “Read the transcript, Congresswoman,” McEnany wrote, attaching a picture of the transcript, showing the whole context of the quote.
Only a few words beforehand, McEnany clearly referred to multiple sitting “congresswomen” who supported the “Defund the Police” movement, going on to list AOC and Rashida Tlaib and others.

This is really quite endemic of the left. Just as in seemingly every other situation, instead of waiting to see the facts and the evidence, they just jump straight in with assumptions and launch into a righteous moral crusade. Perhaps they should listen to the wise words in this old saying: “when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me!”
