Rep. Al Green’s Attempt to Introduce Articles of Impeachment Against Trump Fails Spectacularly

Texas congressman Al Green (D) introduced articles of impeachment against the President on Wednesday, delivering a fiery anti-Trump speech on the House floor. He then, pathetically, watched the resolution expire without so much as a whimper.

Green boasted that he introduced the articles of impeachment because he felt the President’s defense of the National Anthem was racist … or something.

In a congressional forum, the Democrat railed against Trump’s take on NFL players kneeling for the National Anthem, pounding the podium and announcing, “I rise to say to the world that this is not what America is all about.”

Apparently he felt that Trump’s pro-American stance amounted to a high crime and misdemeanor.

Green had originally sought to introduce his articles last week, but was delayed due to the tragedy in Las Vegas.

In a speech on the House floor Wednesday, he moved forward.

The congressman declared, “Today, I rise to use the constitutionally prescribed political process of impeachment to speak truth to the most powerful man on earth, the president of the United States of America.”

Green didn’t address any crimes the President may have committed, rather he went with the bizarre claim that Trump embraced the concept of ‘Hitler was right.’

Um … what?!

Did I miss that memo? I don’t recall Trump ever saying or alluding to such a thing.

“The public has been led to believe that a president must commit a crime to be impeached, which is not true,” Green said. “If any president persisted with the lie that ‘Hitler was right,’ he would be, and should be, impeached not for a crime, but for betraying his trust as president.”

That is tragically false, not just in concept, but in the relaying of facts and information.

Have no fear, Trump supporters. Not only is Green an advocate for wild theories on impeachment, but he’s also rabidly incompetent.

After all the fire and fury delivered during his speech on the House floor … the articles of impeachment immediately expired before he called for a vote.

“The Texas congressman’s maneuver was short-lived,” Fox News reported. “While Green could have forced a vote as early as Wednesday, he opted not to take further action and the articles effectively expired.”

Cue the sad trombone.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders accurately described the effort using a one-word hashtag – “Pathetic.”

Pathetic indeed. But then, that sums up the entire Democrat Party at this stage, doesn’t it?
