Video of a 9-year-old girl taking her school board to task for allowing Black Lives Matter posters in schools – a violation of their own ‘no politics’ promise – has gone viral.
The girl, who identified herself as “Novalee,” said she saw Black Lives Matter posters in her classroom and asked that they be removed based on information she said was mentioned at a previous board meeting.
“When I was heard two weeks ago, you told us to report any BLM in our schools. Apparently, you know they’re in our schools because you made the signs,” the girl said.
Novalee then unleashed, explaining the posters deliver a message of “getting rid of police officers, rioting, burning buildings down while King Governor (Tim) Walz just sits on his throne and watches.”
“I am nine years old and I know that,” she explained. “You expect to believe that you did not know what you were doing when you were making these posters? C’mon people!”

Girl Slams School Board Over BLM Posters
According to Fox News, the school board policy that the 9-year-old girl is referencing states that the district will attempt to “maintain neutrality as to all political campaigns and issues.”
“You have lied to me and I am very disappointed in all of you,” she scolded members of the board.

One woman who says she works at one of the district elementary schools, according to the report, followed the girl’s statements on the BLM posters by arguing with her.
The woman praised the board before saying “Black Lives Matter” six times in a row, tangling with the student, and again repeating “Black Lives Matter” five more times.
Let’s hope she’s not a teacher at that elementary school. Being outdebated by a 9-year-old girl isn’t exactly the mark of a good educator.

Not About Skin Color
In the middle of her viral speech, the 9-year-old girl makes a very important point – that the dream has always been to live in a world where people don’t see color.
The BLM posters, she argues, succeed in doing the opposite.
Novalee indicated she judges people “by the way they treat me,” not on skin color, and even included Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream Speech,” which points to judging someone not “by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
“That dream has come true,” she argued. “I do not care or look at the color of skin. But you make me think of it.”
OMG this little girl totally ROCKED THEIR WORLD!!!

Last September, KARE 11 reported on the school board’s decision not to allow BLM posters in their schools.
The move has created controversy in the community on both sides of the issue.
“Black Lives Matter is not a political statement,” one parent argued. “You can argue there’s a political group – that’s fine. But those three words on their own are legitimate and need to be validated at this time and forever.”
“Because for a long time, it has not been the case,” they continued. “Black lives in America have not mattered.”
The board policy also sought to remove any references to ‘All Lives Matter,’ ‘Blue Lives Matter’ or ‘Keep America Great.’
