Wisconsin Congressional Candidate Van Orden Gets Nod From Vice President Mike Pence

Van Orden, the combat vet Navy SEAL, is on a roll.

Derrick Van Orden, the GOP conservative combat vet and former Navy SEAL running for Congress in the Wisconsin 3rd congressional district, on Monday received something not every congressional candidate gets: An endorsement from the vice president of the United States.

Those things don’t grow on trees, as a guy like Mike Pence is not going to stick his neck out for a loser. But in Van Orden, Pence and the rest of the GOP see a winner in November.

Van Orden was understandably pleased by the nod from the veep: “It is amazing to have the endorsement from Vice President Mike Pence for our campaign in WI-03 to defeat Ron Kind.”

Van Orden further commented,

“Vice President Pence is a man of faith, service, and sacrifice who I have admired for many years. He has always put America first, and along with President Trump, he is doing the hard work in Washington to make sure that our children and grandchildren are raised in a free country…

He knows how dangerous socialism is and that I will continue to fight this evil system as I have a proven record of doing so standing for freedom for over 25 years.

We will work tirelessly to ensure that he and the president are reelected. Right now, it is critical that we have people in leadership positions who are leaders.”

With this endorsement and his fundraising going like gangbusters, Van Orden is the smart money for November. And, as Pence showed, even national Republicans are noticing Van Orden.

The Van Orden campaign is putting a special emphasis on healthcare for American military veterans. Van Orden receives all of his healthcare through the VA. The former Navy SEAL called out the negligence and indifference of Democrat legislators, like Ron Kind, to the struggles faced by veterans attempting to access VA healthcare:

“I would like to thank the Coalition of American Veterans for the important work they have been doing, and continue to do, to make sure the abuses that took place during the Obama-Biden Administration, and under Ron Kind’s watch, are never repeated.

I will continue to work with them to ensure all future generations of warriors who have risked their lives to defend our nation can rest assured when they walk through the doors of any Veterans Administration hospital. America’s heroes must receive the best health care in the world.”

Van Orden is also not oblivious to the unrest on America’s streets. He is working with law enforcement to address the issue. His office comments:

“Derrick is a staunch defender of law enforcement, and was the first to call out Congressman Ron Kind for lying to Sheriffs in his district.

Kind held a conference call with sheriffs, promising them he would not vote for a bill that removed the qualified immunity provision for police officers, but Kind had already co-sponsored a bill that would do just that.

Derrick vehemently decried the anarchy that overtook Madison, Wisconsin and resulted in the vandalism of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, a statue of abolitionist Hans Christian Heg, and ‘Forward’ sculpted by Jean Pond Miner in 1895.

Derrick has since joined with other veterans to work to repair the damage done to the Veteran Museum so that it will continue to honor the countless Wisconsin veterans who have served.”

With us, Derrick Van Orden stands against Antifa and the mayhem present in America today. We need a leader like that in Congress.
