Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin is having a normal one. By her standards anyway.
Rubin is apparently not a big fan of the Democrat hand-wringing after Donald Trump won the election in a landslide earlier this week. While most would contend that equating his voters to Hitler probably didn’t help with that outcome, Rubin instead is opting to double down.
She doesn’t want to hear your election post-mortem reports. Hitler is literally about to assume power in America! Or something.
“It is 1933. Hitler is in power,” she wrote on X, a message only missing ominous music in the background for effect. “No time for a […] seminar on Democrats’ messaging errors.”
Jennifer Rubin Gets Dragged For Insane Take
Let me get this straight. Democrats and the media warn heading into the election that Trump and his supporters are basically Nazis. Voters respond with a massive middle finger on Election Day. And Jennifer Rubin thinks the way forward is to … keep calling the President-elect Hitler?
Seems reasonable.
Rubin got absolutely torched for the bad take.

“Maybe some time in a mental hospital is in the cards for you?” one woman helpfully suggested. “Call it a ‘spa’ if it helps.”
Narrator: It’s probably not going to help.
“Maybe he isn’t Hitler and that’s what democrats are getting wrong and a reason they lost?” another reader contends.
Look, you’re trying to reason with an insane person. It’s not going to work. The only hope is the aforementioned ‘spa’ therapy.
“Yeah, no need to figure out why over half the country is against you,” came one response. “That’s not important.”
Of course not, the important thing is that people are reminded that Trump is Hitler.

Remember When She Pretended To Be A Conservative?
For those thinking it might be too strong a connection to suggest the Hitler rhetoric could lead to yet another attempt on Trump’s life, give me a break.
They called him these things for years, suggested he was a threat to democracy and the very lives of the American people, and then when some lunatic thought he should try to take him out, pretended to be outraged.
Once the outrage subsided after roughly three hours, they started calling him Hitler again. Not to mention, astute readers of The Political Insider will note that Jennifer Rubin once favorably speculated about the deaths of Republicans who didn’t get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Jennifer Rubin wishes more Republicans die of coronavirus than Democrats.

This isn't surprising once you consider that in August 2019 she also wished that the Republican Party should be "burned down" and that there were no "survivors"

She is the same woman who said the Republican party needs to be “burned down” until there are no “survivors.”
Can you imagine if this type of rhetoric came from the Republican side of the aisle and was directed at Democrats or their minions in the media?
