Tulsi Gabbard Demands Mitt Romney Resign After He Accuses Her Of ‘Treason’

Senator Mitt Romney accused decorated Iraq war veteran and former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian asset and spreading "treasonous lies."

‘Never Trump’ Senator Mitt Romney on Sunday accused decorated Iraq war veteran and former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian asset and spreading “treasonous lies.”

Gabbard had claimed there are “U.S. funded” bio labs in Ukraine that could be a very real danger if targeted in war.

Multiple fact-checkers have labeled the claims false by saying the bio labs – which do exist – are funded by the U.S. USA Today claims that the labs are owned and funded by Ukraine. Their sources are the U.S. and Ukrainian governments.

Romney fired back by leveling some very serious allegations against Tulsi Gabbard.

“Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda,” he tweeted. “Her treasonous lies may well cost lives.”

Romney Accuses Tulsi Gabbard of Treason

It’s nearly impossible to downplay what Romney is accusing Tulsi Gabbard of here. Treason, though bandied about by the media every other week, is a very serious crime punishable by death.

Gabbard is a decorated veteran of the Iraq War, having earned the Combat Medical Badge and the Meritorious Service Medal for her service in the Iraq War.

Many observers fired back at Romney for the allegations, noting her distinguished military career over those of him and his family.

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, advised the former Republican presidential candidate to “get a grip.”

Romney, it should be noted, received a missionary deferment during the Vietnam War.

More Criticism

If you were under the impression that Romney’s tweet about Tulsi Gabbard doesn’t fall into the same category as other war-hungry extremists, you’d be wrong.

‘Never Trump’ Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who has repeatedly called for a no-fly zone over Ukraine, something Senator Marco Rubio and others have insisted would lead to World War III, similarly accused Gabbard of being a traitor.

Kinzinger, best known for his weepy performance before the House select committee, suggested Gabbard take a trip to Russia and called her comments “actual Russian propaganda” and “traitorous.”

Romney’s comments also echo past allegations made by another presidential election loser, Hillary Clinton.

Clinton once pushed her own wild conspiracy theory that Russians were “grooming” Gabbard in an attempt to rig the 2020 election. Yes, she actually said this.

“They are also going to do third party again,” Clinton alleged in a 2019 interview. “I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate.”

That person was Gabbard, though Clinton declined to reference her by name.

David Weissman, a U.S. Army veteran, and far-left Occupy Democrat figure said Gabbard’s comments prove that Clinton was right.

“Can it be any more clearer?” he tweeted. “Comrade Tulsi Gabbard’s latest video proves Hillary Clinton’s claim to Tulsi being a Russian asset.”

The crux of the controversy generated when Rubio, in a Senate hearing last week, asked the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland about bi0-labs in Ukraine.

“Does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?” Rubio (R-FL) asked.

Nuland replied: “Ukraine has biological research facilities which, in fact, we’re now quite concerned Russian troops, Russian forces may be seeking to gain control of, so we are working with the Ukrainians on how we can prevent any of those research materials from falling into the hands of Russian forces should they approach.”

She later added that any potential use of bio- or chemical weapons would “no doubt” be the fault of the Russians.

A State Department spokesperson revealed the “biological research facilities” that Nuland mentioned are actually in reference to “Ukrainian diagnostic and biodefense laboratories,” not weapons facilities.

Tulsi Gabbard, meanwhile, fired back and demanded Romney apologize and resign.

“Senator Romney, please provide evidence that what I said is untrue and treasonous,” demanded Gabbard. “If you cannot, you should do the honorable thing: apologize and resign from the Senate.”

The former Democrat Rep. laid out a series of counterpoints to fact-check the aspiring senatorial fact-checker on the Ukraine biological research facility claims.

She didn’t back down from the allegations in any manner.

“So, Senator Romney, you have a choice: out of pride, continue to deny the truth or admit you are wrong, apologize, and resign. Aloha,” she said.

“And remember that without the truth, we can be neither safe nor free.”
