Trump on Anthem Protesters: Maybe They Shouldn’t Be in the Country

Trump National Anthem

President Trump just essentially went with the ‘love it or leave it’ approach when it comes to patriotism in America.

Addressing the NFL’s new policy regarding the National Anthem, Trump indicated that if you can’t place your hand over your heart, respect the American flag, and respect the nation’s song, then maybe you should get the hell out. (RELATED: NFL’s New National Anthem Policy Is a Win For Trump).

And we love it!

In his full statement, Trump addressed the portion of the new NFL policy that continues to allow protesters the option of staying in the locker room as the Anthem is being played, while conveying a level of satisfaction with the league’s effort to get players to stop spitting on the nation’s military and veterans. “I think that’s good, I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms,” he said. “You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there — maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”

“The NFL owners did the right thing if that’s what they’ve done.”

To nobody’s surprise, liberals were outraged that Trump would make such a suggestion, taking it as a literal threat of deportation.

No, seriously, they’re actually that dumb. These are the same people who wanted to self-deport after President Trump won the election in 2016, by the way.

How dumb do you have to be to try and convince people of the deportation angle? Journalism degree-level stupid, it seems.

It’s so amazing how deftly he drives the media insane with even the most basic comments.

Meanwhile, Trump managed to get the league to bend the knee on this matter.

“All team and league personnel on the field shall stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem,” it reads, though it allows players who wish to protest to remain in the locker room or some other off-field location.

Hey, maybe President Trump was just trying to provide that different location – One outside of the country.
