Trump Mocks Feinstein Over Chinese Spy Story

News broke last Wednesday revealing new information on how a spy from China’s communist government managed to stay right by Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s side for nearly two decades. We learned that the spy served as Feinstein’s driver, and served as a gofer in her Bay Area office. This was all uncovered by the FBI five years ago, which informed Feinstein that her driver was being investigated for espionage, but we the public are just learning this now.

Given Feinstein’s role in pushing the Russia witch hunt, Trump mocked her over that spy at a campaign stop in Ohio on Saturday. “Speaking of China, it just came out that the Democratic leader and the leader of the Russian investigation, Dianne Feinstein, had a Chinese spy as her driver for 20 years!” Trump said. “And she’s leading the Russian investigation if that’s what you call it. How about she’s leading the Russia witch hunt!”

Trump said he likes Feinstein, but “I don’t like the fact that she had a Chinese spy driving her and she didn’t know it.” ” I mean, give me a break, c’mon folks,” Trump told the crowd.

Watch below:

Feinstein had addressed the reports, and an earlier reaction of Trump’s to them, earlier in the day on Saturday. “The FBI told me 5 years ago it had concerns that China was seeking to recruit an administrative member of my Calif. staff,” she wrote. “I took those concerns seriously, learned the facts and made sure the employee left my office immediately.”

Can you only imagine if a Republican had a spy by their side daily for nearly two decades? For one, it’s doubtful it would’ve taken five years for the information to become public. And second, you’d expect more press coverage over it. China is an espionage superpower, so isn’t them infiltrating a high ranking Democrat a huge story? To the media in this political climate, apparently not.

Back in 1996, Feinstein argued in favor of granting China “most-favored-nation” trading status permanently, instead of requiring them to improve on human rights. Think her spy friend could’ve influenced decisions like that?

I’d say so.

Trump has been tougher on Russia than any modern President, but the media always ignores that and instead criticizes him for not having strong enough rhetoric against Russia. It’s a bit odd to see people want to talk more than take action, isn’t it?
