Trump Gives Gosar His ‘Total Endorsement’ Immediately Following GOP Lawmaker’s Censure

President Trump delivered a "total endorsement" to Representative Paul Gosar just one day after the GOP congressman was censured by House Democrats and a pair of anti-Trump Republicans.

Former President Trump delivered a “total endorsement” to Representative Paul Gosar after the GOP congressman was censured and removed from his committee assignments by House Democrats and a pair of anti-Trump Republicans.

Trump described Gosar as a “loyal supporter” of the America First agenda.

“Paul is a Congressman who is highly respected in Arizona, strong on Crime, Borders, our Military, and our Veterans,” he said in a statement. “He continually fights for Lower Taxes, Less Regulations, and our great, but under siege, Second Amendment.”

“Paul Gosar has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Gosar (AZ) was censured and removed from the Committee on Oversight and Reform and the Natural Resources Committee for sharing a parody video showing the congressman striking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with cartoon swords.

Gosar Thanks Trump

Gosar was excited to see the show of support from former President Trump.

“I am humbled to have earned your support, and the support of the American people,” he tweeted. “Our struggle to return this nation to greatness is more daunting than ever with the current Administration.”

Gosar vowed that, along with Trump, they will “save America.”

The Arizona Republican is likely to be challenged by several candidates in 2022 based on his role in challenging the 2020 election.

Gosar was re-elected in 2020 with 69.7% of the vote over his Democrat opponent.

Sorry, Not Sorry

Gosar fell victim to one of the classic blunders – the most famous of which is ‘never get involved in a land war in Asia’ – by initially backtracking and apologizing for the cringe-worthy but relatively harmless anime video.

“I do not espouse violence or harm towards any Member of Congress or Mr. Biden,” Gosar said, having deleted the video.

He tried to explain the message behind the clip in question.

“The video depicts the fight taking place next week on the House floor and symbolizes the battle for the soul of America when Congress takes up Mr. Biden’s massive $4 trillion spending bill that includes amnesty for millions of illegal aliens already in our country,” he said.

“It was not meant to depict any harm or violence against anyone portrayed in the anime.”

As some famous politicos have said, “If you’re explaining, you’re losing.”

Gosar could have groveled, marched to the floor of Congress, held a boom box over his head, and serenaded AOC with “In Your Eyes,” and Democrats were still always going to censure him from the get-go.

Never apologize to these people.

Newsweek reports that Gosar retweeted a message with the video attached within minutes of being censured by the House.

“Really well done. We love [Paul Gosar], don’t we folks?” tweeted conservative podcaster Elijah Schaffer, along with the video.

Trump clearly agrees.
